He also has an approval rating of 17%. Who in their right mind would support his candidacy for House Speaker?

Colom campaign responds: โThis desperate stunt from national Republicans is what you do when you know youโre about to lose a race. Weโre confident that when every lawful ballot is counted, Scott Colom will be Mississippiโs next U.S. senator.โ

Important folks know the backstory of this ad. My twin brother, Andrew Robert Colom, @andrewcolom, wrote, directed, and produced this ad, and starred alongside me in it. (He's not AI). ๐
Kayland Partee (@KaylandPartee) did the cinematographer and helped with a lot of my great content. These 2 are another example of the awesome talent from and in the Sip!
Scott Colom after his judicial nomination got blocked:
If she loses to Scott Colom, Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith will have helped set her own defeat in motion.
He'd likely be a federal judge right nowโnot her opponentโif not for the fact that she blocked Biden's nomination of him over his support for trans rights.

This may be the most Mississippi tweet Iโve ever seen.
Democrat Scott Colom criticizes his party for writing off Mississippi as he remains locked in a Senate race that is too close to call, telling NBC News that Democrats unfairly gave up on voters in the state. nbcnews.com/politics/2026-elโฆ

He was absolutely counting on having two years of getting to be brain damaged Joe Manchin and making all kinds of demands as the Democrats 51st vote, but he hasn't realized he's a total afterthought now lmao

A quarter of a century ago, USMC GEN Paul Van Ripper did this exact strategy.
In 2002, he was tapped by the Pentagon to play a adversarial force (red team) modeled after Iran during the $250 million Millennium Challenge 2002 wargame.
General Van Ripper refused to hold back. Cleverly using low-tech, asymmetric tactics, he launched a surprise strike that sank 16 to 19 U.S. warships including an aircraft carrie) within minutes.
Van Rippers tactics were simple: motorcycle couriers, light signals, and coded signals from mosque minarets.
Unhappy with the results, organizers halted the exercise, refloated the ships, and altered the rules to script a Blue Team victory.
General Van Ripper resigned from his advisory role, but spoke out in protest:
"Nothing was learned from this. A culture not willing to think hard and test itself does not augur well for the future."
The U.S. military produced an exercise where "the result was preordained", and not a real test of America's ability to invade a hostile nation.
He was prophetic a 24 years later.
BREAKING: Iran is now completely shifting toward low tech guerrilla warfare and asymmetric tactics in the Strait of Hormuz, deploying speedboats armed with RPGs and magnetic limpet mines to choke off crude shipments, per The Wall Street Journal.
The cost imbalance is staggering: an RPG 7 round costs roughly $400, and limpet mines are described as โcheap and easily available.โ Yet a single attack can disable a tanker, as seen when the MT Louise 1 was struck by two devices off Oman. The target is a multimillion dollar asset, with new VLCCs costing around $130 million and resale prices reaching $235 million.
More than 35 incidents were recorded in October, the highest monthly total of the war, with at least five vessels hit in early November, per UKMTO.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Van Riper's Red team strategy exploited numerous problems in the simulation software, such as:
-Motorcycle couriers delivering intel instantaneously
-Hundreds of civilian planes and boats firing cruise missiles at point blank range.
