Less than 24 hours into our Portland (OR) visit & already encountered a beautiful black IPA & hoppy red ale. The dream of the mid-aughts is alive in Portland.
Philly, we’re back! Our first event in, maybe like a year and a half? Come on out and help us remember how this goes.

how would the George Floyd Act prevent the Chicago Police Department from shooting another 13 year old child with his hands up? How would the Act prevent another veteran cop from "accidentally" grabbing her gun? The proposed solutions don't match the problems.

I want to say something about historic analogies... In some important ways what we see now is *worse* than lynching. Because it isn't a mob that engages in extra-legal violence. It is an agent of the state, with the authority of the state, killing people without any process...

2,400 year-old skeleton mosaic in Turkey that says: 'Be cheerful, enjoy your life'
Both Hop Culture and Craft Beer & Brewing have put out amazing resources recently on everyone’s favorite enigmatic beer style: saison. This one’s got words I forgot I wrote but which I badly needed to reread to hold the rudder in our weird pursuit of saison on our new farm.
Do you have a favorite saison? For us, it might be Saison Dupont -- the benchmark for the style.
We talked with a few brewers about what makes a genuine saison and we picked out a few of our favorites! bit.ly/3031NKa

Happy to forever be the counterpoint, saying that every brewery that intentionally does this is bad, actually.
I am fascinated with the genuine opposition I’m finding on social media from beer industry pros defending the right to sell product that could potentially explode.
Spotted: “If this style requires some [consumer] responsibility, that’s part of the style.”

Today, let us remember Martin Luther King as he was: A Black radical anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, revolutionary Christian who was murdered as an enemy of the State. Anything else is just a lie.

I don’t see a path to defeating the fascist opposition right now that doesn’t require pressuring government, policing & military agencies to essentially turn on themselves & oust the most far right elements in their ranks. 1/

Wow it’s almost like police forces in the US exist primarily to enforce the race/class divide & not actually to protect public safety
