I know I joke about Howe but he is a good manager. Two CL qualifications and first major trophy for 70 years at Newcastle playing football which suits Man Utd.
He’d probably stabilise them as a top 6/top 4 team and win a cup or two, lay foundations - with the right recruitment. But no more.
It will take time. It took him nearly a year at Leverkusen. He’s taken over a club who were in relegation form from February. We have to be patient.

He PHYSICALLY doped and gave him an unfair advantage that no amount of training or equipment could match. It wasn’t a case as simple as him having a better bike or equipment to gain a slight advantage.
City did not dope or use PEDs. The advantage came from (compared to some clubs but not others) more investment and also just far better investment in the squad, infrastructure, coaching etc. essentially building a better ‘bike’ in the process and then using it more effectively than other teams on the whole.

Losing João Pedro is a huge loss, that there is no doubt. However, this is the reason why Welbeck was signed.
Very rarely now do you have a club who has two top quality strikers in the same squad, because it simply wouldn't work. Welbeck has proven you can have your peak years at the back end of your career and I have no doubt he will be more than valuable in the 5-6 weeks without João.
I have no worries, Welbeck has been there, done it and got plenty of t-shirts. You don't play for Man Utd, Arsenal, Brighton and represent England if you are not good enough.
If Howe, Nagelsmann and Conte are out and Emery & Hurtzler too; you wonder who they could actually get. If no one wants to come they really are in shit.
