Why only the minister..that's the entire corporate India's mentality...sad that we are still using tropes which worked decades earlier
"Indians are willing to work hard. Nobody in India will tell you it’s 5 o’clock. And certainly no Indian will ever remind you it’s the weekend", said with a smile, by India's commerce minister, to business leaders in Netherlands (India-Netherlands Business Forum)!
Does the minister really think this is a flex? Does India's commerce minister not find anything even remotely wrong while communicating this in another country, as if this is something to be proud of? That too, in Europe, where strict working-hour regulations and work-life balance are legally protected?
Remember - Netherlands consistently ranks among the highest globally for work-life balance and official working-hour limits and this quip can come across as tone-deaf to local labor norms!
Doesn't a minister know that a nation's workforce pitch should emphasize skill, innovation, and high value-add rather than an expectation of endless availability? His own quip starts with 'Indians... looking for a better quality of life' and then immediately forgets that 'quality of life' includes not working like slaves.

BMC wants to Grabs land from Tax Payers & Handover to Hawkers??
BMC, HAWKERS, POLITICIANS NEXUS
Instead of removing illegal hawker encroachments on footpaths, BMC sends notices to tax paying societies threatening to forcibly take over part of their land.
100% footpath & 1 CAR Lane taken over by hawkers. Pedestrians forced to walk on the road.
BMC and Politicians dont want to implement Pedestrian First Policy. Party Shaakkas/offices on footpath. BMC turns blind eye towards them
Numerous representations to Asst. Commissioner HEast Ward - No permanent action - only eyewash action taken

Well. Here it is: a new book that has been keeping me busy for a while. The Seventh Continent: Antarctica and the Southern Oceans. Past, Present and Future 1/5
This happens every day..no one cares. The traffic cops just helplessly watch them go. Share autos are a different level of goondagardi. @MTPHereToHelp is just a helpless bystander
BMC & Traffic Police HELPLESS???
Blatant and Dangerous Wrong Side Driving on 7th Road TPS3 Santacruz East leading to Khar Subway.
Despite repeated requests / reminders to BMC and Traffic Police to install railing dividers, no action taken. Daily accidents occur but no one is bothered. If you question the offenders they abuse you. An one listening??
Major bottle neck created at Abdul Hakim Chowk roundabout due to illegal parking and shop encroachments causes Traffic Jam from Nehru Road till Abdul Hakim Chowk.
MTPHeretoHelp will auto reply, "we have forwarded your complaint to VakolaPS" !! Their job done!!

BMC UNDER POLITICAL PRESSURE ???
As anticipated in our post of 22nd Aug, all the stalls located on Nehru Rd, TPS3 Santacruz East, which were demolished by BMC are rebuilt the next day!
The attached pictures speak for themselves.
Interesting to note that BMC team left behind all the demolished stall infrastructure (tin sheds, plywood, planks, shelves , shutters etc) so it was very convenient for the stalls to rebuild w/o incurring heavy costs within a few hours.
BMC needs to explain this and why no criminal action has been taken on such repeat offenders.
Is BMC under political pressure??
Were only selected stalls demolished because they had not paid their hafta?
Why were other stalls occupying 100% and beyond of footpath not demolished??
Who is protecting them??

Strange country we live in.
Comedy causes outrage.
Corruption causes amusement.
So there is no way to connect with @Adani_Elec_Mum . The toll number is down and so is the online chat...what rubbish is this
Stephen Fry's trilogy is a joy! Listen to the audible by him..it's amazing
Realized that I have not read Homer's Odyssey, and may be lost while watching Nolan's film. Was looking for what to read to prep myself and stumbled on Stephen Fry's creative interpretation/retelling of Greek mythology via Mythos, Heroes, Troy, and Odyssey (4 audiobooks). Started Mythos today - loving it. The humor is typical Fry, and is terrific!
One of the worst buying experiences ever. Their showroom in Mumbai is a joke and in hindsight I am glad the deal fell thru as everyone there is a headless chicken

Tell, tell.
Absolutely rubbish work being done by @mybmcWardHE when they have taken away the road without any written notice. What are v to do in case of a medical emergency? @mybmc
I think #Ashes2025 should be the last of the #TheAshes. It's boring to see series after series @englandcricket burnt to ashes. It's not even a contest

Indigo sold tickets to flights for which they had no scheduled pilots. This itself should be grounds for criminal prosecution.
Ha ha.. brilliant. High time we all do this. Anyways #Mumbai is one big gutter now
