The Nuremberg Trials Taught Us One Thing: Following Orders Is No Defence. Look at this picture. Now consider the record. Boats blown apart in the Caribbean, their occupants killed without publicly presented evidence of drug trafficking. An Iranian school bombed, children slaughtered. Fatal ICE shootings, deaths in detention, families torn apart, and allegations of systematic abuse. And behind it all, an administration drowning in questions about corruption, accountability and the abuse of power. Nuremberg established a principle every official, soldier and federal agent should remember: following orders does not automatically absolve you of responsibility for crimes. Manifestly unlawful orders must be refused. With a blue tsunami approaching, congressional investigations will expose what this administration has desperately tried to conceal. Documents will surface. Witnesses will testify. The money trails will be examined. The rats may soon abandon the sinking ship. But here is the uncomfortable truth: Leaving the ship does not erase what you did aboard it.
