Someone needs to build an app called LinkedOut where employees share the real reasons they quit their toxic jobs.

Unless I'm working in an ER, working as a paramedic, or working as a firefighter, there's no reason I should be expected to "thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment." Just fix the terrible management and stop running your office like a circus.

After COVID, people's social skills have drastically declined. Many have less patience for each other, and simple interactions can feel awkward. Everyone seems more comfortable staying home and avoiding people.

I swear SOMETHING broke in society since 2020 and nobody wants to talk about it. And I’m not talking about masks, lockdowns, or COVID. I mean the FEELING of life. Everything reopened. We went back to work. Restaurants filled up. Events came back. But somehow life still feels… different. Years disappear faster. People feel more disconnected. Everything feels more expensive, stressful & rushed. And somehow we’re all constantly exhausted. I can’t even explain exactly what we lost. I just know life before 2020 felt more ALIVE. Tell me I’m not the only one who feels this.

The amount of disrespect you have to swallow at work because you have bills to pay needs to be studied. being broke is so fucking humbling

I held my wifes hand the entire time we were at Costco. She thinks I’m being romantic but I was really stopping her from buying things we don’t need

They still don't understand Gen X in the workplace. We don't want free pizza parties. We don't want mandatory team-building retreats. We don't want motivational speeches about being a family. And we definitely don't want another company-branded coffee mug. You know what we want? 💰 Pay us what we're worth. 🏖️ Let us take our vacation days without guilt. 🏡 Respect our time outside of work. 🤝 Trust us to do the job we were hired to do. 📵 Stop expecting us to be available 24/7. We're not looking for an office to become our second home. We have lives, families, responsibilities, and better things to do than pretend a pizza party makes up for being underpaid and overworked. Pay us fairly, respect our boundaries, and let us get on with our lives. That's the perk. That's the culture. That's it. 😂

It’s funny how one person can become “the tech person” in a family just because they once successfully restarted the router.

We really need to stop calling events where people burn buildings down and loot and rob people “protests.”

9-5 is so crazy. They will rush you to finish the document. Only for it to take weeks before they actually check out what you did.

The greatest privilege on earth was growing up in an era where loving the United States of America was simply common sense, not a debate. I miss that America.

The fake urgency in corporate is one of the worst things humans have invented. We’re not doctors, firefighters, or bomb disposal experts. We work in spreadsheets and attend meetings. Nobody needs a response within the hour.
