Large ± 5% daily swings in major indexes like the S&P 500 $SPY and ± 30% moves in $VIX are not a sign of a "normal" or healthy market. I found 4 historical parallels to this level of volatility: 2002, 2008, 2018, and 2022.
When uncertainty + vol is this high it means one of two things:
1) Conviction is low / algos are in control
2) There’s an external forcing function breaking consensus, policy, liquidity, or systemic risk
Tariffs + 10/30yr are scaring the market and rightfully so.
Since Feb 19, market is down -21%. Yesterday saw a +13.87% move (one of the largest single daily moves in history) and today we've given back -7% of that move

April 2nd - Tariff "Liberation Day"
I've put together a comprehensive breakdown of ALL U.S. tariffs expected to be announced today, including product-specific and country-specific measures - both proposed and those already in effect👇
Summary:
- 11 net-new tariffs expected to go into effect today
- Imports already hit: steel / aluminum, autos, auto parts (Steel / aluminum have been taxed at 25% for the last 21 days)
- Tariffs on automobiles expected to go into effect tomorrow, car parts May 3
- Imports of 7 products have yet to see tariffs: Copper, lumber, timber, semis, agricultural products, oil/gas, medicine, integrated circuits
Country-specific:
- All products imported from Mexico/Canada currently taxed at 25% for the last 4 weeks
- All purchasers and imports of Venezuelan/Russian/Iranian oil will get hit w/tariffs
- 15 specific countries have been targeted w/tariffs

If this administration is truly serious about permanent 25% auto tariffs, multiple American car manufacturers will quickly find themselves bankrupt. Re-shoring manufacturing would take decades, and there is not enough price elasticity on autos to absorb the additional costs.

$BTC just made a new ATH and liquidated everyone who was shorting because of that bearish divergence, which also got invalidated.
That’s why I mentioned in many of previous tweets that after BTC enters a price discovery, pure holding will outperform trading!
Will be sending some ranges later today from which I expect a pullback, but I don’t advise trading.
