It was gritty. It was gutsy. But Denver got it done.

A byproduct of top NIL deals being worth more than practice squad NFL contracts is that guys who know they probably won't make the final 53 are just going to go back and get a bag in college so they can maximize whatever money they can make during their life in football.
A downstream effect of that is it takes snaps and opportunities from young guys who need to develop, so those young guys then become the old guys who won't leave, which then takes more opportunities...
And this creates a huge, multi-year logjam of lost development all because these 5th and 6th year college players are legislating themselves into not having to accept the end of the road.
History: the Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright and, if he clears waivers, he has an agreement in place for the 2026 season to play for LSU, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln.
Wright is believed to be the first player who could play for an NFL team, and then go back to play in college.

If there’s a picture of you in an NFL jersey playing in a preseason game you shouldn’t be allowed back in CFB
NEW: Buccaneers EDGE Jack Pyburn and 15 others have been granted a TRO for a fifth year of College Football, @PeteNakos reports.
Pyburn posted 2 sacks in Tampa Bay's last preseason game.

This is a crisis in our country’s handling of child enrichment overall, not just the development of professional athletes.
Landon Donovan says America is missing soccer talent because kids can’t afford to play.
“Only 2% of kids playing organized soccer in America came from households that made less than $50,000.”
“If you don’t make $50,000, your kid cannot play organized soccer.”
“Think about how many kids you’re missing out on in this country because they can’t afford to play the game.”
“There is zero chance I could have played club soccer.”
“My mom made $34,000 a year, single mom raising three kids.”
“She couldn’t pay $4,000 for me to play club. Are you kidding? She couldn’t pay $400.”
“That’s not a good system to create good players.”
