You need a liberal/leftist lobbying arm that is willing to actually organize on this, fundraise, put pressure where needed and follow through on threats. Conservative groups function well these days because they'll raise money and attack right constantly. They'll run ads, mail programs, phone calls against shitty republicans on gun control. Nothing like that exists left of the NRA currently. I'd love for it to exist, but a Dem politican has to weigh metric shit tons of Bloomberg money against appeasing the lefty gun people who will only whine after voting for them anyways. If they're the voting type at all. There's no positive value currently.

I genuinely cannot think of a single profession in which an employee could be caught deliberately urinating on people (let alone the most vulnerable members of our community) and reasonably expect to keep their job. The consequences would be immediate, and rightly so.

(Source : Valeurs actuelles)

19-Year-Old Found Dead in Student Residence Following Lockdown at University of Toronto Mississauga Campus A 19-year-old man was found dead inside a student residence at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) after police responded to reports of an armed person late Monday night. Peel Regional Police were called to the university's residence after receiving a dangerous weapons call involving an armed person inside a residential unit. The incident began Monday afternoon, November 2, when police received a 911 call reporting that the 19-year-old man had assaulted a woman in Brampton. Officers subsequently attempted to locate and arrest him. After 9 p.m., police located the man inside a unit at the McLuhan Court residence, near Dundas Street West and Mississauga Road. Officers were informed that an armed person was inside the residence. According to police, while officers were at the scene, the individual discharged a firearm from inside the unit. The man was reportedly armed with a handgun for which he did not have a licence. Officers made multiple attempts to communicate with the individual but were unsuccessful. Police eventually entered the unit and discovered the man deceased. The 19-year-old had suffered an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced dead early Tuesday morning. Ontario's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was notified and invoked its mandate to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The audacity of this OpEd should be rewarded. Private Toronto Jewish groups on Facebook are calling for Chow’s death and instructing on how to do it and “she needs to find ways” to help Jews in Toronto with their anxiety?! Take a good look @JohnLorinc

This is utter bullshit. Anyone else injured, it lies solely with the incompetence of this “police department.”
We want to address some confusion surrounding the investigation into the home invasion in the Bridle Path neighbourhood. Investigators immediately recognized the potential connection between the home invasion and the individual who showed up at hospital with a gunshot wound. But recognizing a potential suspect and having enough evidence to arrest them are two different things. Suspicion alone isn’t enough. Police need reasonable grounds, supported by evidence, to make an arrest. We will continue to gather evidence and will go where the evidence takes us. We are grateful for the professionalism, tenacity and commitment of our investigators who continue this work. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs: finding the outstanding suspects and holding those responsible for this violent home invasion accountable.

This Toronto Police presser about the Bridal Path home invasion is unreal. - Cops meet suspect at hospital after he was shot during the home invasion - Suspect still leaves hospital - Won't admit prior interactions with police (despite that police have photo of him in jumpsuit)

Toronto Police Release Image of Suspect Wanted in Bridle Path Home Invasion Shooting Toronto police have identified one suspect and are searching for two others following a violent home invasion in North York that left three people with gunshot wounds and another injured by a hammer. The incident happened on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at approximately 3:40 a.m., at a residence in the area of Post Road and Hyde Park Circle. Police allege three armed suspects, carrying firearms and a hammer, forced their way into the home and went to the second floor, where they demanded personal valuables from the occupants. An altercation broke out between the suspects and the occupants, during which multiple shots were fired. Three victims, a 75-year-old man and two women aged 26 and 28, suffered gunshot wounds. The 75-year-old man and a fourth victim, a 64-year-old woman, were also struck with a hammer. The suspects fled the scene in a dark-coloured SUV before police arrived. All four victims were transported to hospital. One of the suspects has been identified as 23-year-old Daijohn Richards of Toronto, who is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant. Richards faces multiple charges, including four counts each of discharge firearm with intent to wound and robbery with a firearm, three counts of aggravated assault, break and enter to commit an indictable offence, possession of a prohibited device and disguise with intent. Investigators believe Richards was accidentally shot by one of the other suspects during the struggle inside the home. Police say he may have visible signs of a shoulder injury. Police have released an image of Richards as they attempt to locate him. The identities and descriptions of the two remaining suspects have not been released. Richards has a previous criminal charge dating back to May 2021, when he was arrested in Thunder Bay as part of a drug-trafficking investigation. At the time, Richards, then 18, was among five people arrested following a search warrant at a residence on Tamarack Place. He was charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking. All three suspects are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Toronto Police Hold Up Squad at 416-808-7350 or 33 Division at 416-808-3300.
