A huge step forward today as my Flags and Emblems Bill passes the second stage in the Northern Ireland Assembly.
We are now another step closer to landmark legislation that will help ensure our shared public spaces are respectful and inclusive for everyone.
Great to attend the QUB sustainable travel event ‘lessons from the Fleadh’ and hear from speakers including Anne from Walk Wheel cycle trust, from Translink and DfI. Belfast has to move away from cars and towards walking wheeling and cycling if we don’t want to grind to a halt

ALT Letter from Alliance MLA Danny Donnelly on health reform in Northern Ireland. He says Alliance follows clinical evidence and prioritises patient outcomes over social media popularity, citing changes to urgent care, GP out-of-hours services and emergency surgery. He argues strong political leadership is needed to explain health reforms to the public, and criticises the UUP health minister’s leadership and record.
I feel energised after this morning’s door knock with @micky_murray @PaulaJaneB @KateNicholl and a bunch of activists on Balmoral Avenue and Finaghy Road South. Thanks to everyone who took the time to chat with us
