Dear @narendramodi Sir, your so-called bureaucracy is simply not listening to us. I was once a huge supporter of you, but honestly, it feels like our concerns are being ignored. I am ready to debate the SEBI Chairperson publicly and demonstrate, with data and logic, why the current CAS implementation is not suitable for the Indian market at this stage. This is my country too. I voted for you, and I have every right to question policies that affect our markets and economy. Whether there is a hidden agenda or not, lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable. This may be a small group raising the concern today, but the issue is becoming increasingly messy. If the data behind CAS is genuinely robust, publish it and address the concerns transparently. Please intervene. Fix the CAS issue before it creates a bigger problem. The public deserves answers. @SEBI_India @PMOIndia @FinMinIndia @_anujsinghal @abhijeetpushkar @iarjuntandon @AshishGupta325 @unweild @Mitesh_Engr @rajmichaelsfit @ZeeBusiness @sumitkbehal @piyushchaudhry @vishalmehta29 @CommerceGuruu @CNBC_Awaaz @DEBU_NEOGI @dhanesh500 @itjegan @kapildhama @dhirajsinha @TradingBeast_ @schooliyaEngr @FI_InvestIndia @justnottamomma @gurjota @hsvashistha16 @VRtrendfollower @ihimanshuojha1 @IRITA_india @niftywizard @niftyclubz @Nick_khandelwal @KiritSomaiya @PRAFULKULKARN18 @SarangSood @LeverageAlpha_ @Sanju_Lakshya @Justsiva123 @piyushgoriya1 @saketh1998 @Ronak_Unadkat @kirubaakaran @sumitkbehal @sumitj362 @AartiTikka @Trader_souradep @Vijayec2008 @the_avid_trader

businessworld.in/article/sto… A ₹4.70 Put went to ₹200 and back to zero in 5 minutes — not a crash, just SEBI's "transparent" closing auction doing its job. If you trade options, read this before the next expiry does it to you.

Dear SEBI Regulators, @Sebi_india @FinMinIndia First, my appreciation to SEBI. SEBI has done a tremendous job over the years in building a safer, more transparent and better-regulated market. Without SEBI's efforts, our capital markets would not have reached where they are today. This is precisely why I believe SEBI will address the CAS vulnerability too. On August 13, Sensex weekly expiry, SEBI itself found prima-facie manipulative trading during CAS. Copthall Mauritius placed aggressive buy orders at +3% across Sensex constituents. Mansi Share & Stock Broking placed large sell orders at 1%–3% below reference prices and subsequently cancelled almost all of them. SEBI found that these orders influenced the indicative equilibrium price, while their F&O positions provided the economic incentive. And now, on the August 27 monthly expiry, we saw another extraordinary CAS episode. Sensex plunged nearly 2,000 points within minutes, while a Bankex put option reportedly jumped by 14,700% during the CAS window. Similar large orders near the 3% band were visible across Bankex and other index constituents. I am not saying the August 27 episode is already proven manipulation. I am saying it deserves investigation. Two expiry episodes. Similar concerns. In just a few weeks. This is exactly the vulnerability I am talking about. The market can trade in a tight range for hours, but if concentrated orders can materially influence the CAS close for a few minutes, the derivative payoff linked to that closing price can be enormous. Look at NYSE. Its closing auction averages around $43 billion a day, sitting on top of an enormous, highly liquid cash market. US listed options can represent trillions of dollars of notional exposure. The point isn't to compare the numbers directly. The point is the depth of the underlying cash market supporting the closing price. If our CAS liquidity is relatively thin compared with the derivative exposure linked to it, we are leaving a vulnerability open. Let us address this vulnerability. We are seeing the problem on expiry days. Weekly or monthly, it doesn't matter. Simple solution: On expiry days, don't run CAS. Continue with the old VWAP-based closing price. Let CAS build genuine depth on non-expiry days. Once it becomes so deep and liquid that a few participants cannot meaningfully influence the closing price, bring it back on expiry days. Think about the new income-tax regime. The government allowed the old regime and new regime to coexist, giving participants time to understand and adapt. Here, a proven mechanism that had operated for years, despite its limitations, was replaced with a new mechanism that has already demonstrated serious vulnerabilities. Test it. Measure it. Then decide. SEBI has protected the integrity of our markets for decades. I have tremendous respect for that work. I am only asking SEBI to apply that same protection to this new mechanism before the vulnerability becomes a bigger problem. SEBI needs to look at the incentive, liquidity and transition risk, not just the mechanism. I hope @PMOIndia will also take note of this concern and ensure that the transition to CAS does not create an unintended vulnerability in our markets. Jai Hind 🇮🇳 #Srinivega

The entire day's risk is concentrated in the last 10 min. Whole day the markets moved 75 points. Post 3pm alone, it moved 75 points. If this isn't a casino, I don't know what is.

CAS is not new. America, Germany, Europe, Hong Kong all run closing auctions. One thing separates India from them. Timing. America: settles on the close, and stops trading at the close. Germany: the auction starts, the expiring contract stops. Same second Europe: the main index options settle on an index average taken around midday. Nowhere near the close. Hong Kong: ran a closing auction, suspended it after a crash, brought it back seven years later in phases, and kept derivative products out of it entirely. India: settlement forms in an auction between 3:15 and 3:35, and the expiring option trades right through it, and five minutes past it. Everywhere I checked, the expiring contract stops before its own settlement price is formed. In India, it does not. Was this the reason that caused the expiry chaos? Sensex expiry runs on the same design. On what basis was this designed at all?

What the hell is happening to the Indian stock market? Dear @SEBI_India & @NSEIndia @BSEIndia How many times do you expect traders to rebuild their entire business? > December 2020 – 50% leverage removed > March 2021 – 75% leverage removed >September 2021 – 100% leverage removed We adapted. Yes, leverage is a double-edged sword. But thousands of genuine traders with smaller capital were affected. Still, we adapted. > September 2023 – Bank Nifty expiry was shifted from Thursday to Wednesday, while BSE launched Sensex weekly expiry on Friday. Suddenly, we had expiries almost every trading day. Many traders, especially algo and 0-DTE traders, redesigned their entire systems. We adapted. > November 2024 – Weekly expiries of FinNifty, Bank Nifty and other indices were removed. Only Nifty and Sensex weekly expiries remained. Again, thousands of traders had to change their strategies. We adapted. > February 2025 – Expiry-day margin benefit was removed. STBT traders were hit badly. We adapted. > 1st September 2025 – Nifty expiry shifted from Thursday to Tuesday. Again... We adapted. > Jane Street reportedly made billions of dollars from Indian markets over the years. Later, regulatory action was taken, and subsequently trading restrictions were lifted after payment of regulatory dues/settlement. How exactly did all of this benefit Indian retailers? Meanwhile... - Option STT has increased massively over the last few years. - Bid-ask spreads have widened. - Slippage has increased. - Global volatility has increased. - Transaction costs keep rising. We adapted to everything. And now... Closing Auction Session (CAS). Seriously? Every few months there's another structural change. Every few months traders are forced to rebuild their systems. Every few months liquidity takes another hit. You say these changes are for retail investor protection. Then please show us the data. Can you show even one report proving that retail trading losses have actually reduced because of all these interventions? If not, then what exactly are these constant changes achieving? Instead of making markets more efficient, you're making trading more expensive, more complicated, and pushing serious traders towards crypto and international markets. As a full-time trader, my inner soul genuinely cries today seeing the direction our markets are heading. We survived leverage removal. We survived daily expiries. We survived removal of daily expiries. We survived expiry changes. We survived removal of expiry margin benefits. We survived higher STT. We survived wider spreads and slippage. Now we are expected to survive CAS as well? Enough is enough. I request SEBI and the exchanges to reconsider this rule. Before implementing such major structural changes, consult the trading community. There should be proper communication, public discussion, and representation from active traders. I also request every trader to raise their voice through the proper channels. If you genuinely believe these changes are hurting market participants, please send your feedback or complaint to SEBI through its official grievance mechanism. And if anyone from the industry has a direct channel to the exchanges or regulators, please help convey the concerns of the trading community. Please Retweet this so our voice reaches the right people. Enough of silent adaptation. It's time the trading community is heard. @AnilSinghvi_ @_anujsinghal @SarangSood @PRAFULKULKARN18 @adigitalblogger @iarjuntandon @JayneshKasliwal @sunilgurjar01 @piyushchaudhry @SantoshPasi @RakeshPujara1 @TanmayKurtkoti @justnottamomma @AshishGupta325

@firstockbroking recently hosted a 2-day closed group event at Tanarya, where 20 traders from across cities came together. It was an experience filled with knowledge sharing, fun, and play 🎯 We also shared about our platform, and the traders gave us valuable feedback and inputs — many of which we’re excited to bring to the platform very soon. At Firstock, we truly believe it’s built for traders, by the traders — and their input makes all the difference. Looking forward to creating more such spaces to interact, learn, and grow together🚀 @rramkumar_ @sureshv1586 @MaheshMayya1988 @abhi_sb @sathishKGK @akhileshrawat18 @Vbkr27 @kalyanbhuma @_prathamkotian_ @Rishabh73435083 @PRANAV_K_R @AhammedAjmalK @PRAFULKULKARN18 @saketh1998 @TradeFlow_Algo @saketh1998

Indians lost a staggering ₹23,000 crores to cybercrime in 2024 – a whopping 206% increase from 2023! The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) projects that Indians may lose over ₹1.2 lakh crore to cyber-fraud in the coming year 😔 While anyone can fall victim to these carefully crafted cybercrimes, our senior citizens and less tech-savvy individuals are particularly vulnerable. This August 15th (Independence Day), we're hosting a special @ZerodhaVarsity Live session in both Hindi and English to spread awareness about the most common digital scams and how you can protect yourself from them. The session is completely free. If you know family members or friends who could benefit from it, please encourage them to join us. Registration link in comments 👇
