Today is Transgender Day of Visibility and this morning @BCLegislature , #MLAs gathered with members of the transgender, non-binary, and 2 Spirit communities— gratitude to Gwynne from @AVIVanIsle, Clio and Ky from SAGAH, and Jaye and Dr. Devor from @TransArchives @UVic for joining us—to raise the transgender flag and discuss the importance of good allyship and what it looks like, and the humanity in respecting and accepting each other’s differences. Thank you to friends in the local community who weren’t able to attend but sent well wishes: Out on Screen, @isexualhealth, and Victoria Pride Society. And my appreciation to @BrendaBaileyBC @s_malcolmson @NikiSharma2 @JM_Whiteside @SusieChant_nvs @mableelmore @jennblatherwick @JeremyValeriote @bcgreencaucus @elenoresturko who all came out to show their support. 🏳️⚧️

Ecstatic to share my newest (& fav!) pub: "Trans Sex Work in Colonial North America: A Herstory" 💗
It traces the phenomenological link between trans femininity & sex work across time, zooming in on three micro-histories of trans women from 1650 to 1840.

Happy headshot season! 🤓 And happy 1 year until I enter the job market (terrified). Been working hard to become Canada's first trans woman History Prof, though I will apply all over.
Anything you wish you knew at this stage? How can I best prepare!? Do I need a website? *ahhh*
