The Russians carried out a complex, massive attack overnight, aimed primarily at our critical infrastructure. And the main target was energy – power generation facilities and substations – in the Odesa, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv, and Rivne regions. In many cities and communities, emergency and unscheduled power outages are ongoing. In Kharkiv, the Russians directly struck a city clinical hospital. Seventy-three people were injured, and the cardiology department, where people were receiving treatment, was damaged. A rescue operation has also been underway since yesterday in Komyshuvakha, in the Zaporizhzhia region. Tragically, the death toll has risen. Russia has killed 29 people. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Five people were injured. There are still people under the rubble. Rescue operations continue as far as the security situation allows – there is a threat of Russian double-tap strikes, as they always so wickedly do. Overnight alone, the Russians launched 289 attack drones, 17 ballistic missiles, and 59 cruise missiles. And even now, the air raid alert continues, and there is a threat of new Russian missile and drone attacks. It is very telling that all of this is happening on the day of the U.S. congressional elections. The Russians believe that America will not notice this signal from them. But such terror must be noticed and stopped. Ukraine must be helped to defend its skies, otherwise Russia will never stop its missile strikes. It is essential to help build peace honestly and reliably, and America can do that. Thank you to everyone who will not remain silent about this Russian attack. Thank you to everyone who supports the defense of Ukraine.

We need a full France style protest mobilization to head down to the rink. But instead of asking for a better education system for our children and better cost of living policies we focus on important things like a complete tear down of the Winnipeg Jets management. A rebuild.

Jets blown out 7-0 by the Hurricanes in what I strongly suspect will be Scott Arniel’s final game as head coach. Whether he’s the only change will be up to owner Mark Chipman. But status quo is unacceptable. Jets next game is Tuesday v Canadiens and fans expect changes to be made

I would support the Canadian government taking over Stelco and then investing in it and growing it on a massive scale to crush this POS
Cleveland-Cliffs CEO: I bought Stelco because I could not afford anymore having Stelco flooding the market here in the United States to the detriment of my own company. David Cochrane: Am I understanding you correctly there? It was a defensive acquisition?

Sick fucking Putin. Sick.
A horrific Russian strike on the railway station in Dnipro. The Russians launched a drone attack on a platform where an ordinary commuter train and a scheduled passenger train were standing. Unfortunately, 13 people have been confirmed killed as of now. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Ten more people were injured. All necessary emergency services are working at the scene. Just how many terrorist strikes has Russia carried out against our people since sanctions were lifted on certain Russian oligarchs and the Russian energy sector, rather than de-escalating? This is precisely why Ukraine has always said that just and decisive action by America and Europe is needed in response to Russian escalation – sanctions against Moscow and its war machine must not be eased for as long as this Russian war continues. It is time for new, stronger sanctions steps by the EU, the United States, and the G7. I thank everyone who is ready to help in this way.

If he keeps saying things like that, it will become impossible for Canadians to pay for their own drinks in any bar in the democratic world.

The RCAF received its first two CF35As yesterday at Luke Air Force Base in Arizona. The future of air and space power is built on more than equipment alone.

Since @FriedgeHNIC mentioned it this morning on 32 Thoughts, I am more than happy to supply a few laughs for folks from the time I used to have hair. Hers’s the 1989 edition of the Jaromir Jagr approved mullet. Enjoy the day.

Either the President was lying or Musk was lying, but the decision to slow down satellite speed and access has life or death consequences for Ukraine. This deserves a full investigation by the Senate. Elon Musk should be compelled to testify before Congress and under oath. National security decisions should be made in our national security interests, and not based on the personal whim of an unstable executive.

Canadians overwhelmingly reject Alberta separation, defeating a movement pushed by Russia & US influence networks, courted by US Trump officials and embroiled in controversy over US Republican-linked campaign apps and unlawfully obtained voter data.

Alberta voters have decisively rejected separation from Canada in an advisory referendum. This is a triumph for the cohesiveness of Canadian civil society. It’s a sharp defeat for Russian active measures, proxied through the Kremlin-sponsored Trump regime of the United States.

Fuck, are you serious? You’re the one who set this process in motion—dividing society into "separatists" and "citizens of the country." You wanted to reap political dividends by splitting society into permanent and non-permanent residents. After this referendum, you need to resign!

As per some reports, the Herc from Winnipeg flew over the Wainwright hospital and some medics parachuted out to supplement healthcare staff below. Totally badass decision and the fastest way to get them there.

Contributing to the deaths of innocent Ukrainians by deliberately impairing defences, in a desperate attempt to garner more votes in the mid-terms? Sickening.

I have been briefed by the Canadian Armed Forces on the major incident at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright this evening. We are working closely with the Government of Alberta and first responders. Our thoughts are with the members of the Canadian Armed Forces in Wainwright.
