There was something extraordinary about the way Sir Patrick Stewart could make even the most powerful characters feel profoundly human.
Whether commanding the bridge of the Enterprise or guiding a generation of young mutants, Sir Patrick Stewart brought a tenderness to his characters that made us feel we knew them. Behind that unmistakable voice was an actor who understood that even the greatest heroes could be uncertain, that strength could exist alongside vulnerability, and that compassion was never a weakness.
Over a career spanning more than six decades, his performances became woven into the lives of generations who grew up watching him. As Captain Jean-Luc Picard, Professor Charles Xavier, and so many others, he left us with characters we loved, lessons we carried, and memories we'll always treasure.

My favorite performance of Patrick Stewart was in the TNG episode "Tapestry".
There are some days I look back to this episode for a reminder of overcoming difficulties and harsh truths.
I used to beat myself up over bad choices I had made and bad people I associated with. Led me into to conflicts, ruination, and at worst: homelessness.
But those were the things that made me into who I was. A lot of people just give up. They might lose their mind or spirit along the way. But you can't ever give those up -they're all you really have.
That almost sounds like it could be a cope, but in many cases, that's just how it goes. You have to live to know.

Few characters on TV have embodied the ethos of a good leader like Captain Picard, thanks in large part to the gravitas that Patrick Stewart brought to the role. A true legend that will be sorely missed. RIP.

This isn't something good coaches do.

@DuncOnDemand The Carolina Panthers are now 0–6 in the Dave Canales era when entering a game with a winning record.
This is a direct reflection of the coach and his happy go lucky, Grinny McFuckface act he does after every awful loss. A nonchalant attitude to being absolutely obliterated and embarrassed at home for the second goddamned time already this season.
The players don't give a shit. The coaches don't give a shit. The FO doesn't give a shit. The owner doesn't give a shit.
Just consume more product and shut up. This franchise doesn't care about the fans or their wasted time, money, or effort cheering on this inconsistent garbage.

There is absolutely nothing more appropriate and fitting that Dave Doeren is not coming to the field for the 3rd quarter of the season.
