Super Bowl champion & former teammate of Tyler’s at WSU, Abe Lucas recorded a special message for Washington high school football players @wsfca1 whose teams are participating in @hilinskishope & @athletesforhope Student-Athlete Mental Health Week. 🏈💚
His message was simple & powerful: Mental health matters, asking for help is a sign of strength & no athlete should ever feel alone.
From Washington State to the NFL, Abe continues to use his platform to support the next generation.
Thank you, Abe, for helping CHAMPION this CONV3RSATION
🙏🏻❤️❤️❤️ #mentalhealthmatters #hope #askingforhelpisstrength #12thman #YouAreNotAlone
My thoughts are on this is simple:
I’m sure the injuries, as he’s said, put him in a depressed state at time over the last year. And that sucks, don’t wish that on anyone. He was authentic with how much it affected him.
With that said: the injury last year is not what caused him to go down this extremist, divisive route with Christianity. I, and multiple others, had said for 2+ years there was stuff going on with him. He was getting into this stuff years ago.
Lastly, I hope for all people to get the help they need. However, there’s nothing that will really make me feel bad for someone who A: uses Jesus as a shield or reason, and misrepresent what he actually stands for in an effort to spread hatred and B: it doesn’t excuse some of the things he was saying publicly about groups of people in the last 3 days.
Hope Ivey does get the help he needs, and from simply a believer in Jesus POV along with the help for his mental, I hope someone teaches him what Jesus is supposed to stand for in this faith which is love everyone, treat everyone how you’d want to be treated, and *all* of us fall short of perfection.*

*for all my non religious followers, promise this the last time you’ll see me dip into this religious bag publicly lol*

Born without a heartbeat at just 23 weeks and given only a 1% chance to survive, Derick Hall defied all odds — thanks to his mother’s relentless fight for his life.
Now, 24 years later, the Seattle Seahawks linebacker is suiting up for Super Bowl LX on Sunday!
He is the founder of the Derick Hall One Percent Foundation, which supports preemies and their families.
Every life deserves that fighting chance.

When Joe Burrow injured his wrist in 2023, Chiefs fans rallied together to donate money to both his foundation and his hunger relief, using $9 donations.
With Patrick Mahomes now having to battle through an injury as well, I think #Bengals fans should look to donate to his own foundation, 15 and the Mahomies. Here’s the link: 15andthemahomies.org/donate/
Get well soon, Pat!
