This may be the most damning statement ever uttered by a Labour minister. It's so revealing of the attitude of a government that thinks that employers are a class that don't work for their profits but somehow exploit others for them - rather than understanding the nature of small and medium-sized businesses and how bloody hard most employers work to create wealth and employment.

On the one hand, the Unite the Kingdom march, described as a “far-right rally” with “violent clashes” … 23 arrests.
Yet the mostly left wing protests and riots in France, have seen over 3,000 arrests and are described as … “largely peaceful”.
That’s what they need you to believe. Don’t 🔥
How can anyone on the left claim with any credibility that Labour’s inept cabinet of career civil servants with virtually no private sector experience could ever successfully run one of the world’s largest capitalist economies??
As long as Labour are in power, the UK economy will slide further into the abyss.

In the 27 months since Labour came to power, we've seen;
• Employer National Insurance increased from 13.8% to 15%.
• The employer NI threshold cut from £9,100 to £5,000.
• The freeze on Income Tax and National Insurance thresholds extended to 2031.
• Capital Gains Tax increased from 10% and 20% to 18% and 24%.
• Business Asset Disposal Relief increased from 10% to 14%, then 18% – and now its lifetime limit halved to £500,000.
• Investors’ Relief raised to 18% and its lifetime limit cut from £10 million to £1 million.
• CGT relief on sales to Employee Ownership Trusts halved.
• Carried interest taxation increased and moved into the Income Tax regime.
• Dividend tax rates increased by two percentage points.
• Savings-income tax rates increased by four percentage points.
• Property-income tax rates increased by four percentage points.
• VCT income tax relief cut from 30% to 20%.
• Most unused pension funds brought into the Inheritance Tax net.
• Agricultural and Business Property Relief capped.
• Inheritance Tax thresholds frozen until 2031.
• The non-dom regime replaced with a tougher residence-based system.
• VAT imposed on private school fees.
• Business-rates relief removed from private schools.
• The Stamp Duty surcharge on second homes and buy-to-let raised from 3% to 5%.
• The Furnished Holiday Lettings regime abolished.
• A new annual surcharge on homes worth £2 million or more.
• Pension salary-sacrifice NI relief capped at £2,000 a year.
• The bank surcharge doubled.
• Capital allowances for plant and machinery cut twice.
• Online gaming duty almost doubled.
• The Energy Profits Levy increased and extended, and its investment allowance scrapped.

Together they represent one of the biggest transfers of wealth from households and businesses to the Treasury in decades – with little to show for it in public services.

If the BBC wants to save money, perhaps it should start by axing its pointless and untrustworthy “Verify” department.
License fee payers are shelling out almost £4m a year for this irrelevant propaganda machine.
It’s list of failures and controversies includes:
- failing to prevent the BBC from presenting unsubstantiated Pro-Hamas propaganda as fact;
- misleadingly reporting of unsubstantiated reports of racially-motivated attacks during the Southport unrest, that were later proven to be false;
- allowed civil servants to mark their own homework whilst on secondment in the Beeb’s Verify dept;
- Falsely claiming that minority drivers faced an “ethnicity penalty” from insurers.
Time for the BBC to admit that Verify was always intended to be a tool to discredit right wing opinion, and that the experiment has failed.
So if Lucy Connelly received a 3-year prison sentence for supposedly encouraging the burning down of a migrant hotel, how many years can we expect these hard-left activists to get for inciting their followers to mimic the riots in France that have seen shops ransacked, and schools, churches and historic town hall buildings burnt to the ground?
