This is why every renter should HATE Labour’s Landlord Tax… 👇
Last year, Rachel Reeves introduced it. Now, John Healey has DOUBLED IT before it has even come into force!
Labour doesn’t hang about when it comes to putting up taxes.
It means landlords will be forced to pay up to 49p in tax on every pound they earn from rental properties.
Why is Labour singling out landlords for a politically motivated tax?
They didn’t pile extra taxes onto their trade union paymasters.
As any renter or landlord will know, our rental sector is already in a mess.
Start with Angela Rayner’s Renters’ Rights Act.
In the third quarter of this year, the number of properties available to rent fell by 15,000. SpareRoom has found that more than a third of landlords are reducing their property portfolios. Almost half of landlords who own just a single property are selling up entirely.
There is no point in having a myriad of ‘rights’ if you can’t find somewhere to live…
Labour MPs will no doubt tell you this is all about fairness. I am sure Labour’s Treasury Minister, Emma Reynolds, would decry landlords as not being ‘working people’ - just something else to be taxed.
They simply don’t understand the bigger picture because Labour MPs have so little real-life experience. Rogue landlords won’t follow these rules anyway.
If you’re a landlord, you already face huge costs.
Expensive insurance. Maintenance. Safety certificates that cost hundreds of pounds. Councils pile on the pressure too, making it difficult and eye-wateringly expensive to get the right licences. Meanwhile, HMRC is forcing landlords to file their ‘Making Tax Difficult’ reports five times a year.
And don’t forget the vital home improvements that make tenants’ lives better - and cost money.
All of this means landlords are asking themselves the question: ‘Is it really worth it?’
In the end, renters will foot the bill through higher rents (and the independent OBR has warned that this will happen) - if, of course, they can find somewhere to live in the first place.
Conservatives want to help people own a home of their own. We will scrap net zero and gold-plated building regulations to make it cheaper to build a home, and scrap stamp duty to make it cheaper to buy a home.
You don’t help renters by raising taxes on their landlords and tying them up in red tape.
In the end, renters will pay the price for Labour’s Landlord Tax.

Andy Burnham and John Healey want you to forget about the Budget
I won't. Because your taxes are heading for a record high to pay for ever more welfare
Don't let them forget it.

Today’s interest rate hike could cost families on tracker mortgages £400 a year.
But why are rates going up?
Because Labour’s Jobs Tax and sky-high energy costs are fuelling inflation. 👇

There is a battle for the soul of the right in our country. And many lessons to learn from the US especially how NOT to govern.
Voters want results. As I wrote in The Right Way, democratic legitimacy now demands performance legitimacy.
Brilliant analysis from Allister Heath👇
Donald Trump’s Republican Party has suffered a major setback in the US midterms. But was the result really about the war in Iran?
@AllisterHeath writes that the answer lies closer to home: in Trump’s broken promises on prices, immigration and peace, and a presidency he says has betrayed the very voters who put him in power ⬇️

These guys are on a holiday with your money.
On their holiday they are giving more of your money to those countries.
When they get back, they will give more of your money to people who don’t work.

Kemi Badenoch today threw down the gauntlet to Labour over its pathetic pandering on slavery reparations.
Speaking aboard HMS Wellington in central London, the Tory leader tore into Andy Burnham, warning that while he thinks about apologies and more taxpayer-funded cash giveaways, her party is discussing how to cut welfare to fund defence.
Badenoch declared that she is 'proud of our history' and wants us 'to remember our history in a proud way'. She said:

Andy Burnham's intervention on slavery reparations raises a serious question: is this yet another attempt to deflect attention from the failings of his Government? With welfare spending spiralling, immigration remaining a serious challenge and defence funding under pressure, Labour should be confronting the problems facing Britain today, not reopening arguments about historic reparations.
Britain's involvement in the slave trade was abhorrent. But our country's extraordinary role in abolishing that trade must also be remembered. If Burnham is serious about tackling slavery, he should start by demanding action against forced labour in China and the products entering Britain as a result.

It’s official. Burnham is going to take £40million of our hard-earned money and give it to folk in the Caribbean to “ atone” for slavery.
How about giving it to the Royal Surrey hospital in Guilford to “atone” for the state of the NHS?
The fastest we throw out this dud the better.

Since I posted this it’s been reported that PM Burnham will announce £40m today for infrastructure and green energy projects in the Caribbean. So that didn’t take long. And if Burnham/Miliband think this sort of gesture will appease the reparations grifters I have several bridges to sell them. They are not beating up on the UK to join the net zero bandwagon!!

Why is Andy Burnham so concerned about other countries’ debt when our own is over £100,000 for every household?
Not a single penny of British taxpayers’ money should be spent on reparations.
British taxpayers’ money must not be spent on reparations.

Shabana has made a serious mistake surrendering to Labour MPs. So I’m putting people on notice - when we get into government we will scrap this weak policy.
Immigration is too high. Labour are making a bad situation much, much worse.
The Conservative Party is under new management. I accept this problem started under a previous Conservative govt. Many of those in that Cabinet have gone to Reform where they belong.
And I’ve got a proper plan to fix it👇
