Anyone else finding this situation odd? Sam Burgess confirmed he agreed a contract extension with Warrington in July but still not confirmed by the club?
All the signs point to Sam Burgess staying at @WarringtonRLFC - and he's said as much himself - but the contract extension he revealed back in July was agreed remains unsigned... It begs the question - what's the hold-up? ๐Ÿ‘‡@warringtonnews warringtonguardian.co.uk/spoโ€ฆ

Bit torn on this. I am in favour of coming down hard on coaches who call referees cheats. But in these circumstances, the comments were made in private and accidentally broadcast. It wasn't something that was meant to be publicly heard.

New Zealand has never hosted the Rugby League World Cup. We do not yet know the 2030 host. With #RugbyLeague interest and crowds in New Zealand as high as it has ever been, if ever there is a time for the country to host a World Cup, it's next time!

The listing of the squad suggests Litten starts and O'Neill drops to the bench. Likewise, Knowles replaces Radley in the starting 13. Thoughts?
The squad has been named for our final group game against Papua New Guinea ๐Ÿ‰ #EnglandRL ๐Ÿด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ

Castleford fans must wonder if this was the same Semi Valemei that played for them last season.
Tommy Trbojevic and Semi Valemei trade hat-tricks as Fiji put up a mighty Rugby League World Cup fight against the Kangaroos ๐Ÿ‘Š

ICYMI - The World Cup has seen excellent crowds so far and that is a major success. But the structure has limited the levels of excitement and leave you thinking it could have been so much more. READ MORE ๐Ÿ”ฝ thetryline.blogspot.com/2026โ€ฆ

Only the World Cup can produce such human-interest stories like this one!
Nixon Puttโ€™s family and friends hiked 7 days on foot from the Highlands just to see him play for PNG. Itโ€™s too expensive to fly, driving not possible. Ran out of food, went without sleep to get there in time. Incredible effort #rugbyleague #nrl Coming up in sport on @7NewsSydney.

Feel very conflicted about this World Cup, as I'm sure most English rugby league fans do. So many amazing stories, games, nations - like Australia v Fiji right now. It looks unbelievable. But obviously for English fans, it's happening at a funny time of the day, the format is obviously crap, the paywall.. but that really shouldn't detract from the bigger picture. Big crowds, big stories, loads of colour, rising nations. It's okay to not feel part of it but still acknowledge that it's been a great tournament. Two things can be true simultaneously. If English fans come across as down on what has been a great tournament, there are reasons why. We're detached from it on this side of the world - not helped by the men's team effectively being out three days into it starting!

Yeah... disregard this one ๐Ÿ˜†
I don't think people are talking about Papua New Guinea enough in this World Cup. Played very well last week. Win against either Samoa or England (their underdogs but not impossible) and they've a very live chance of progressing.

By the time Samoa play Tonga next weekend, one of their places in the semi final is guaranteed. For the other, it will be highly likely. I wonder if either or both will rest players?
