Senior Al-Shabab leader Hassan Yaqub Ali has reportedly been seen among the fighters who overran Diinsoor district in Bay region. His appearance on the front line is fueling that the sweeping offensive across South West State is no ordinary insurgent push, but part of a foreign-funded campaign being facilitated by Ethiopia and Kenya.
Ethiopian troops stationed in the area handed over towns to Al-Shabab without firing a single shot. Al-Shabab is now reportedly seizing towns one after another, allegedly alongside forces loyal to Laftagareen.

Yesterday, Ethiopia virtually handed over cities in Somalia’s South West State to Al-Shabaab on a silver platter. Today, Ethiopia stands of aggression against its neighbors Sudan, Eritrea, and Somalia and of financing terrorism.
Yet European and American taxpayers continue to bankroll the Ethiopian government.

According to local sources in Somalia's South West State, it is reported that settlements in the Bay and Bakool regions that fell into the hands of Al-Shabaab were abandoned without resistance. The same sources state that Ethiopian troops in the region bribed local commanders with funds originating from the UAE and handed the cities over to Al-Shabaab. The Ethiopian government is cooperating with Al-Shabaab in Somalia.

The turmoil in Southwest Somalia runs deeper than politics or leadership rivalries. Attacks on Southwest Somalia and the country as a whole follow a single design: planned by Israel, financed by the UAE, executed by Al-Shabaab, and enabled by Ethiopia and Kenya.
UAE's role in Somalia, its hand in Sudan, and its push of Ethiopia against Eritrea are not separate stories but pieces of one plan.
