By contrast, here we see Ian Campbell, 12th Duke of Argyll, wearing more casual attire: brown checked tweed sport coat, corduroy trousers, light blue shirt, and brown loafers. Everything here says country: checks, tweeds, corduroy, blue, green, and brown

Our #HopeForReefs team is continuing critical work with @MMRI_Maldives & local partners to explore deep-reef ecosystems. A recent trip focused on Dhaalu Atoll, where the team discovered undescribed species of fishes & nudibranchs — & were delighted to see healthy shallow reefs.

New Science paper argues horses came to the Americas earlier than previously thought—a conclusion that, if it holds up, rewrites the history of the N. American West. Strikingly, the article is from a team of archaeologists, geneticists, and Lakota researchers and elders. 1/15

It's incredible seeing the transition from degraded, single-thread streams into expansive beaver-engineered wetlands. And it only took a handful of #beavers to do this. Imagine what the continent and the rivers looked like prior to the Fur Trade, back when beavers were abundant!

A flyover of a stream that beavers moved into and engineered into a complex wetland that spans the entire valley bottom.
