Texas AG Ken Paxton has taken about 350 out-of-state trips with a state-funded security detail, including 25 to foreign countries. Jared Kushner’s attorneys at Clare Locke have sent Vanity Fair a formal demand letter disputing the story and demanding its removal. It can be very difficult for current and former intelligence customers to pursue defamation cases, not because they face a different legal standard, but because proving their case may require classified evidence they are not authorized to disclose. I’m not making a prediction about whether Kushner will or won’t file suit…just pointing out that it’s more challenging for him than for most.
