when I was new to COD I watched YT gameplays from people like xJawz, FearCrads and TheMarkOfJ - all of which had at least a 5kd - and even though I was a shitter at the time, seeing these people shred lobbies and knowing it was possible made me want to get better at the game and I sank in an insane amount of hours to do so.
what does an account that is played on by some of the best players in the world collectively averaging a 1.27kd tell people? That there is no point improving at the game.
Call of Duty with its current SBMM implementation in casual playlists has to be one of the only games out there where getting better at the game makes your experience worse.
Was aiming for sub 2 but a numb foot, which spread up to a numb lower leg since 4 miles may have hindered me slightly

Most people complain about SBMM in CoD because it's a manipulative system that they are unwilling to be open and honest about.
If you aren't complaining about the current strict matchmaking system, I'm gonna assume you've never experienced it within the highest skill buckets. It's punitive!
What's even more unfair is the inability to play with someone outside your own skill level because they don't get the benefit of variety. It's a horrible experience for all parties involved.
Don't believe me? Find a 4 KD player and pair them with a 0.5 KD player, and tell me how long they stay on the game together. 🤷♂️
