Nine hundred and thirty pages. That is the depth of the vulnerability report behind the recent UAlberta leak, a stark case study on the architecture of institutional apathy. While automated machines identified over 4,500 vulnerabilities in just twenty hours, the institution took three years to respond, buried under the weight of silent technical debt. We are often told these crises stem from sophisticated nation-state actors. The reality, however, is simpler: automated scanners exploiting years-old vulnerabilities, facilitated by routine institutional negligence. This is correct. When that happens = nobody wins. When is anyone going to 'step up' and help out? Why yes - those are valid logins for many things here in #Alberta ( just a handful of documents people have not even taken a look at ). These are 'no longer yours' btw @nenshi

And when you ignore #cybersecurity you get hacked. Unfortunately our data, biometrics, emails, names, addresses are actively committing #cybercrime. @RCMPAlberta has a file but will not act. @ElectionsAB wasn’t the only govt org in the data breach! xitter.cf/UCPGoA23/status/210575…

We didn’t arrive at this point by accident. The UCP courted separatists for political gain, and Albertans have been dealing with the consequences ever since. A little more on that from my conversation with Ryan Jespersen yesterday. #abpoli #cdnpoli #ableg #abtory #alberta #canada #ucp
"There were promises made." Former UCP cabinet minister and now Alberta Tory leader @PeterGuthrie99 says Alberta is "in this mess today" because Premier Danielle Smith "courted" separatists. So what happens now? #RealTalkRJ #abpoli

🇨🇦 ⚠️ CRIME STOPPERS BREACH FALLOUT DISRUPTS ANONYMOUS TIP REPORTING IN CANADA After the breach at tip-platform vendor Navigate360/P3, two Ontario organizations have changed how the public can report crime. What changed (Oct 21–22, 2026): • Crime Stoppers Guelph Wellington has paused all tip intake. It removed its web "Tip Submit" feature, told Navigate360/P3 to suspend intake for the program, and directed the National Anonymous Call Centre to stop accepting tips on its behalf • Toronto Police has temporarily suspended its use of Crime Stoppers while it reviews the new information and the added safeguards • Both point people to direct police reporting channels, which Toronto Police notes do not offer the same anonymity The breach itself dates to March. The new development is the operational fallout, not a new attack. ⚠️ Analyst Note: These are local suspensions, not a shutdown of every Crime Stoppers program. No retaliation or physical harm has been confirmed, and a name appearing in a stolen tip does not mean that person was the informant. theglobeandmail.com/canada/a… Another day, another UCP scandal where the same names keep coming up. Premier Danielle Smith repeatedly claimed her government knew nothing about the contractors selected to build Indigenous recovery centres, insisting those decisions were made independently. Now, court filings allege the government actually recommended a contractor linked to Sam Mraiche, a businessman with deep connections to the Premier’s inner circle. So what exactly did the Premier know, and when? During my time as Infrastructure Minister, these projects fell under Minister Dan Williams’ portfolio, with direct involvement from the Premier’s office. These recovery centre contracts were among the serious concerns that led me to approach cabinet to call for a public inquiry and ultimately contributed to my resignation as Minister. A year and a half later, the same politically connected individuals keep appearing, and the questions continue to mount. Albertans deserve answers about the role played by Minister Williams, the Premier’s office, and who benefited from these contracts. Enough with the denials and deflection. Albertans deserve full disclosure. #alberta #abpoli #ableg #abtory #ucp #accountability
