When did you last check the expiry date on your driving licence?
If it's coming up for renewal, now is a good time to get organised.
Renewal fees depend on your licence category and the period you choose.
For classes A, A1 and B1 only:
• 1 year — UGX 70,000
• 3 years — UGX 100,000
• 5 years — UGX 200,000
For other categories:
• 1 year — UGX 130,000
• 3 years — UGX 210,000
• 5 years — UGX 310,000

18 minutes. This is the amount of time it took me to walk into @UDLSOfficial and walk out with my renewed driving license.
All I had to come with was my original expired license and a PRN on my phone. I paid used Mobile Money.
This is what peak efficiency looks like, and I really commend these fellas. I give them 5/5 Stars!
When you digitize processes, payments and integrate systems, it makes data reusable and service delivery seamless.
Even more, the team right from security are very professional and customer centered.
Every @GovUganda MDA needs to go and benchmark with these good people!

Did you know that UDLS does not accept cash payments at its facilities?
When paying for driving licence services, make sure you use the approved payment channels.
Here's what you need to do:
✅ Generate your Payment Registration Number (PRN) through the URA website or the Ministry of Works and Transport e-services portal.
✅ Make your payment through a bank, mobile money or PayWay.
✅ Keep your proof of payment and PRN ready when visiting a UDLS facility.
