From nature, into craft. 🌿🧺
In As-Salt, Hanan Al-Atish transforms natural and recycled materials, from banana fibres and halfa grass to palm fronds, into handmade baskets, bags & other pieces, using natural dyes such as henna & onion.
As part of the Green Al-Salt project, #UNESCO has worked with the local community to inventory a set of intangible cultural heritage practices.
The project is implemented by UN-Habitat & UNESCO, in collab with @MOTA_Jordan, @jo_culture & @AsaltGrMuni & funded by @AicsAmman
من الطبيعة… إلى حرفة تحمل حكاية.🌿🧺
في السلط، تحوّل حنان العطيش مواد طبيعية ومعاد تدويرها، من ألياف الموز والحلفا إلى سعف النخيل، إلى سلال وحقائب وقطع يدوية مختلفة، مستخدمةً ألواناً طبيعية مثل الحنّة والبصل.
ضمن مشروع #السلط_الخضراء، عملت #اليونسكو مع المجتمع المحلي على حصر وتوثيق مجموعة من ممارسات التراث الثقافي غير المادي.
