The govt has had 8 years to implement a law requiring eligible, working IPAS residents to contribute to their accommodation costs. Still, taxpayers foot the bill and the deadline slips to 2027. This is another failure of political will and accountability
Deputy Nolan described the Government’s further postponement of a scheme for employed IPAS residentsto contribute to costs as an “absolute insult” to 150,000+ Irish households who contribute toward their own social housing costs. She first raised the issue in 2024. gript.ie/nolan-slams-further…

Incredible move by the @HSELive Do they not know that Clare has the fifth lowest breast cancer survival rate nationwide (according to @AontuIE PQ) This decision must be reversed immediately.
There is “huge anger” in Clare as news emerged that the mobile BreastCheck unit in the county is to be pulled from October 30. Local activists say word of the unit’s departure only filtered out through women receiving appointment letters for Galway. gript.ie/huge-anger-in-clare…

The world No. 1 in women's tennis, Aryna Sabalenka, unleashes a devastating and unfiltered statement: "It's vital to protect fairness. Biologically, men are much stronger than women. It's not fair. It's not equality. It's not women's sports if we let biological men compete against us." She sides with Sophie Cunningham and sends a clear message: women are not going to keep staying silent while they steal our titles, podiums, and opportunities from us.

Hahaha! The Journal, home of the FeckFact today says that it is unable to independently verify that a controversial character scheduled to appear at a HSE breastfeeding conference in Galway previously delivered a speech entitled "Inducing Lactation for Kinksters" It's confirmed on this character's own bloody website, is that "independent" enough for ye!
"The Journal could not independently verify this..." That's strange, since it's on Mr Engelsman's CV which is online Stephen @Ste_McDermott jacobengelsmanibclc.com/ archive.ph/2026.10.25-211508…

When will TUSLA management and staff be held accountable? Children & family courts will have to scrutinise care applications, as children are being harmed by the very system that is supposed to protect them. @PQuinlanDW @gavpepper85 @LindadeCourcy @UnityakaAontu @MooreEireannach
TUSLA CHILDREN TARGETED BY CRIME GANGS FOR SEXUAL EXPLOITATION A report in today’s Irish Daily Mail by Sarah Slater warns that organised crime groups are deliberately targeting vulnerable girls in the care of Tusla and sexually exploiting them. Ruth Breslin, head of the Sexual Exploitation Research and Policy Institute (SERP), said girls in residential care are being identified by criminals, invited to parties and plied with alcohol and drugs before being taken to private residences or hotels where groups of men may be waiting. In some cases, she said, men pay for sexual access to the children. Breslin said the recent case of a 14-year-old girl subjected to “horrifying” sexual exploitation by several men was not isolated. Research carried out by SERP in 2022 had identified similar concerns, particularly involving vulnerable children in State care. She also pointed to criminal exploitation affecting boys, saying some young people are drawn into drug dealing and controlled through debt, threats or fear. Garda sources told the newspaper that cases involving teenagers in State care include alleged “sextorting” after contact through dating apps and girls becoming caught up in the drugs trade before being sexually exploited to pay off debts. One source described an online “subculture” in which some perpetrators meet through forums and dating apps. The report follows revelations about the 14-year-old girl for whom the High Court ordered special care but for whom a secure placement could not be found. Taoiseach Micheál Martin told the Dáil that the Government was working on the case and said staffing shortages in specialised care facilities remained a fundamental problem. Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission chief commissioner Liam Herrick said the adults involved in exploiting vulnerable children must receive serious attention, warning that children can be groomed through gifts, affection, drugs or promises of protection. The report raises a disturbing issue extending beyond the shortage of special-care beds: children already in the care of the State are being deliberately targeted by organised criminals for sexual and criminal exploitation.

‼️ 🔔 ‼️A Sunday evening on a bank holiday weekend. ‼️ What extraordinary timing, @HMcEntee I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach writing this. ☘️☘️Please share. ☘️☘️ ‼️While much of the country is enjoying the long weekend, McEntee is floating the prospect of Irish troops participating in peace enforcement under an EU-led mission in Lebanon, while pressing ahead with plans to dismantle the UN authorisation safeguard in Ireland’s Triple Lock. ‼️And apparently, we are supposed to accept her assertion that Irish troops are already engaged in peace enforcement. ‼️Really, Minister? Where precisely? ‼️UNIFIL is a UN peacekeeping mission. The UN expressly distinguishes robust peacekeeping from peace enforcement, which can involve coercive military action without the consent of the parties. ‼️Which Irish units are currently conducting peace enforcement? ‼️Under what legal mandate? ‼️Against whom? ‼️And why is this message with such profound implications for Irish neutrality being advanced on a Sunday evening of a bank holiday weekend? ‼️The timing is remarkable. The terminology & vagueness is troubling. ‼️This should alarm every Irish citizen, regardless of political allegiance. ‼️Speak up. Challenge your TDs. Demand a full public debate and unequivocal answers. Irish neutrality belongs to the Irish people & the Irish people must not be presented with a fait accompli.

Surely a record low in the combined support (30%) for the two once-dominant parties, whose combined vote as recently as 2007 was close to 70%. That + a Taoiseach from a party polling 15% =crisis of representation

Plummeting numbers for the governing parties. 30% for a combined for the once invincible Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. It’s almost as if the Irish electorate don’t like their representatives ride roughshod over over their wishes.
