Canada sold C-34 as a simple ban on under-16s using social media. Now Identity Minister Marc Miller says cabinet can extend it to Roblox and Discord through an Order in Council, with no vote in Parliament required. The bill was written to allow exactly this.
Meta wants the scope widened too. When the government and Meta agree on internet policy, users should check their wallets and their passports.
To keep kids off these platforms, every user has to prove their age. That means adults handing over government ID or a face scan to play a video game. Discord already leaked 70,000 ID images through a support vendor last October. Ottawa’s plan is to make the pile bigger.

The neighborhood is Magnolia Cove in Sherrills Ford, Catawba County NC.
Jill Menson and her husband bought their house believing it would be their LAST home and five years ago, their HOA fee was $158 a month.
This summer it shot up to more than $1,200.
Plus a $10,000 ASSESSMENT on top of that.
On Monday night, the HOA board voted to raise fees AGAIN, from $1,250 to $2,500 a month.
That’s nearly SIXTEEN TIMES what they paid five years ago.
And the meeting?
It was held over ZOOM.
Menson says they’ll be forced out with nowhere to go, because no one will buy a house carrying fees like that.
So they went to the state for help.
The North Carolina Attorney General’s office told Channel 9 there are NO STATUTES limiting how much an HOA can charge.
None.
As long as the board follows its own documents, it can charge whatever it wants.

BREAKING: NYT reports that operatives with Democratic Alaska U.S. Senate candidate Mary Peltola’s campaign were behind the effort to find & recruit a candidate named Dan Sullivan to run against incumbent GOP Senator Dan S. Sullivan in an effort to confuse voters and peel votes from him.
Specifically, NYT says they have reviewed text messages and documents that reveal in summer 2025, a Peltola staffer received instructions from campaign staffers to find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as possible.
The staffer complied, going through voter records, and compiled a list. The operation “involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.”
Per NYT:
“The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.”

There’s hundreds of young kids that live in Tenderloin. These kids see dead bodies practically every day and it’s not blurred when they see it. So if they see it and they stomach it I’m quite sure y’all adults who’s asking me to blur it out can stomach it too…
