Migrant's Justice Leader "Nacho" Arrested on Federal Smuggling Charges
Jose Ignacio De La Cruz De La Rosa, known as “Nacho,” 30, of Burlington, VT, was arrested this morning while heading to work.
He faces multiple federal counts including:
- Conspiracy to bring aliens to the United States
- Bringing aliens to the United States
- Producing fraudulent identity documents
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the charges stem from an alleged multi-year scheme involving smuggling people across the border and selling fake Vermont driver’s privilege cards.
He pleaded not guilty today and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

🚨 Addison County, VT: In September, illegal alien Vicente De La Cruz-Rodriguez was arrested for Attempted Murder after a domestic assault.
@VTDC802 reports that court documents state he "had been removed at least twice by the U.S. Border Patrol in one week in 2022 for being unlawfully in the county and he returned without proper authorization a third time to the United States three years ago".
"[The victim] reported De La Cruz-Rodriguez threw her on a bed, climbed on top of her and started to manually strangle her with both hands, Busby said. [The victim] stated she was afraid De La Cruz-Rodriguez was going to kill her".
