An estimated 650 TONS of ice were used at the #ParisOlympics2024, mainly for recovery. Yet, according to the evidence, ice bathing likely delays tissue regeneration and impairs recovery! ❄️❄️ ➡️bjsm.bmj.com/content/early/2… @BJSM_BMJ @ephysiol H/T @amandathebex

Why are we STILL ice bathing? When you look at the evidence, the cold water should be circling the drain. #icebathing #Recovery Read my new column in @SkeptInquirer. 🔓skepticalinquirer.org/exclus…

If you're training for #muscle strength, power, or hypertrophy, STOP ice bathing after your sessions. It's almost certainly diminishing your returns. 1/5 #strength #training Evidence summary ->

WHAT. AN. EXPERIENCE. 19 participants monitored every second for up to 58 hours across 200km of desert terrain in Qatar. Left my house 4.15am Thursday morning and returned Saturday 9pm. From 30+ °C during the day down to ~10 °C overnight.
Aspetar conducting a research study with Samla race 🚵🏽🚴‍♀️🏊🏼🚣🏻 using human telemetrics to monitor live physiology of the athletes competing. Good luck to all the athletes taking part.
