And when @AndrewCMcCarthy and @jacklgoldsmith opine it's a bad cop, it's a bad cop. It's like Phil Rizzuto saying the Yankees screwed up.
The Trump DOJ’s Latest Absurd Charge Against Comey nationalreview.com/2026/10/t… Absolute tour de force by @AndrewCMcCarthy ... @JanCBS @ShannonBream @brithume @marklevinshow @BretBaier I can't stand Comey. His lawyer Fitzgerald makes me ill. But this alleged indictment is a farce.
The funniest thing that could possibly happen is that Bibi makes a deal with the Arab parties in a Nixon to China domestic move to retain power.
For those interested, @israel_elects has great, up-to-date, info on Israeli electoral politics, and today's turnout and (soon-to-be) election results.

As Ron DeSantis enters the final weeks of his governorship of Florida, look at what he has accomplished.
His record is nothing short of miraculous and may be the single most effective governorship in the history of the United States.
Let’s remember….
He was the first to stand up to crazy COVID restrictions and reopen schools and businesses, he led the nation in school choice with more than half 1 million families now in the school of their choosing, he eliminated state debt and left the state with 18 billion in rainy day funds, and most importantly he signed the Heartbeat Protection Act, which ended most abortions after six weeks.
Everyone I know who lives in Florida says it is the most well-run state in the country. Well done governor!🙏
Puts Senator Slotnik's comments in perspective. Sad to see Trent McCotter's name on this. This is lawfare and there is no principled way to decry what happened to Trump in NY, @JeffClarkUS and @DrJohnEastman before their respective bars and not also condemn this.
Trump’s DOJ has charged James Comey AGAIN, this time under the Espionage Act over a 2016 New York Times story. In DOJ’s own words, Comey had staff talk to a reporter to “correct misinformation” in a Reuters article.
They filed the charges on the last day of the 10-year deadline and skipped the grand jury. Comey is already moving to dismiss, arguing the extended deadline only applies to indictments

Read widely. Read Mark Bowden’s book. Read Cheney’s book. Read Bill Barr’s book. @baseballcrank wrote a very good analysis of the election results for National Review. All agreed Trump lost with no substantial fraud. Trump’s claims weren’t just lies, they were stupid lies.

Eric Hoffer wrote this article about Israel almost 60 years go. It reads like it was written yesterday.
"The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews.
Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it, Turkey threw out a million Greeks, and Algeria a million Frenchmen. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese-and no one says a word about refugees. But in the case of Israel the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis.
Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.
Other nations when they are defeated survive and recover but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews.
No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him.
The Swedes, who are ready to break of diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore, and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway.
The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives, it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources. Yet at this moment Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general.
I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish the holocaust will be upon us."

I keep calling Trump The Great Moderate, because he dragged the entire GOP to the left. His awful disordered mine is just a connection to that.

During a heated session in the Moroccan Parliament, the country's first female Head of Government, Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, firmly corrected a male lawmaker from the opposition party PJD, after he repeatedly addressed her using the masculine form of Head of Government in Moroccan language.
El Mansouri stopped him mid-speech to directly assert her title :
“This is the second time you have addressed me as 'Mr. Head of Government.' I am Madam Head of Government, and you will get used to it.”

This is why Trump loves tariffs -- he gets to play Caesar. It enables his "personalist" rule. Economic policy does not govern the situation; personal whim, does. We need a party that reflects the principles and values of the American conservative tradition.
This is the way.
For entirely annoying reasons with zero justification recognizable to any remotely serious baseball fan, I choose to be a Brewers fan for purposes of the World Series. It boils down to the fact that I like Milwaukee more the Tampa Bay, Wisconsin more than Florida. I accept the validity of all criticism.

Is the Major Questions Doctrine actually textualism, or a judicial thumb on the scale against executive power?
@IlyaSomin and @ChadSquitieri debate textualism, presidential lawmaking, nondelegation, tariffs, student loans, and the future of the Major Questions Doctrine.

Can federal judges appoint a U.S. attorney and then override the President's removal authority?
On Unwritten Law, NCLA’s @JacobHuebert joins Mark Chenoweth and @VecchTweets to discuss Trump v. Rogoff and our amicus brief before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
NCLA argues that the President can remove court-appointed U.S. attorneys and that courts lack constitutional authority to appoint them in the first place.
At stake: the separation of powers and accountability for those exercising executive power.
