Eight Lives Lost. A Jaipur Shelter Must Answer.

A feeder reportedly entrusted a mother dog and her seven puppies to Bejubano Ka Aashiyana, Jaipur.
All eight were subsequently found dead under unexplained circumstances. The feeder was reportedly not allowed to meet them, and a body was returned in a polythene bag.
One can only imagine what this family went through—from being entrusted to a shelter to reportedly becoming sick and eventually dying.
What happened to them while they were in the shelter's care? Even more concerning, there have reportedly been similar accounts involving this shelter in the past: a dog is admitted, subsequently dies, and the feeder is allegedly not kept informed.
Is this a pattern that warrants an independent investigation?
We need answers:
-What caused the deaths of the mother dog and her seven puppies?
-Was a veterinary examination or post-mortem conducted?
-Why was the feeder reportedly denied access?
-Why was the feeder not kept adequately informed?
-Will the relevant authorities investigate these reports and ensure accountability?
Animal shelters are entrusted with vulnerable lives. That trust comes with a duty of care, transparency and accountability. Charity cannot be a shield against scrutiny. Requesting

A celebration for humans should not become a nightmare for animals. The Netherlands is moving toward a nationwide fireworks ban to protect animals from fear, stress, and harm.
Dogs, cats, birds, and countless other creatures suffer from the deafening noise and flashing lights. Can we truly call it a celebration if innocent lives are filled with fear?

Talk about pure ignorance. Feeding strays is exactly what keeps them calm and allows for vaccination and sterilization. Vilifying feeders who actually do the ground work while local municipalities fail is peak elitism. Sit down and learn how real street management works.
Civilized societies prioritize saving human lives, maximizing their happiness, and minimizing their fears. Many dog owners spend time and money to train, vaccinate, and neuter their pets to live responsibly in their societies.
On the other hand, the so-called "dog lovers" of India only want to feed and pet the strays without being responsible for the trauma, deaths, and accidents on Indian streets they cause. They must give up the selfishness of their low-touch attachment and oxytocin hits to prevent such unfortunate incidents and let municipalities do their job of animal control.

Four years after allegations of a massive Rs 3.29-crore dog sterilisation scam rocked the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), the controversy has resurfaced as the official investigation report itself has reportedly gone missing. The scam revolves around claims that contractors were paid for sterilising 7,125 dogs during the strict COVID-19 lockdown between March and August 2020, a period when normal activities were completely halted. Significant discrepancies have also been found in the biomedical waste records maintained by the PCMC veterinary department and the assigned agencies. With the civic vigilance department under heavy scrutiny for alleged collusion and missing records, demands are now growing for a high-level CBI or ACB probe into the implicated organisations and civic officials to uncover the truth.

🚨 IIT Hyderabad: What is happening to the community dogs on campus?

Serious allegations have been raised about the treatment of community dogs on the IIT Hyderabad campus — including ₹5,000 fines and disciplinary action against students for feeding them.
But it gets more disturbing.
There are allegations of organised hostility towards community dogs, including WhatsApp groups where discussions about their removal or harm allegedly took place.
💔 Around 76 dogs are reportedly said to have died inside the campus over the past few years.
Dogs cannot file complaints.
They cannot demand justice.
They cannot defend themselves.
That is precisely why institutions must protect them — not allow cruelty or neglect to become normalised.
@IITHyderabad, the public deserves answers:

🔴 What caused these deaths?
🔴 Why are students allegedly being penalised for feeding them?

What happened to Julie, Snowy, and the two other community Indian dogs who lived on your #Dehradun campus for years?
Why were all four reportedly relocated to an undisclosed location last week, and who is accountable for their safety?
A brief history:
Julie was born and raised on campus. Snowy was a familiar face, known and loved by students and staff. Along with two more dogs, they had long been part of campus life, cared for by members of the community.
When Snowy suffered a severe injury, concerned individuals had to arrange medical treatment which required surgery with the support of a local NGO.
People even contributed money to ensure he received food, medication, and proper post-operative care at a shelter. This was an act of compassion and responsibility.
But where is the compassion and responsibility from your end?
It was known that all four dogs vaccinated and sterilized? Then, why were they relocated, where have they been taken?
Under India's animal welfare framework, the relocation of community dogs is subject to applicable legal safeguards.
An institution like yours has a responsibility to set an example in the country on how science should lead the way forward - but you did the complete contrary.
Kindly disclose the current location and condition of all four dogs.
Ensure that Julie, Snowy, and the other two dogs receive humane care and are not abandoned or placed in danger.
Provide a transparent account of the decision-making process and the authority responsible.
These dogs are living beings, not objects to be moved out of sight. Their welfare cannot be treated as an afterthought.
