⚠️ A High risk of rip currents is expected along Georgia beaches today, with a Moderate risk along South Carolina beaches. Rip currents are powerful channels of water that can quickly pull swimmers away from shore, even experienced swimmers. If possible, swim near a lifeguard.

View from my hotel in Crawford #Jamaica BEFORE & AFTER Cat 5 #Hurricane #MELISSA. This spot was in the storm's right-front quad (the strongest part) & most certainly saw winds gusting well over 200 mph. These fierce winds scrubbed landscape bare, flattened or unroofed every house, & even destroyed concrete buildings—like the one across the street. Just the sound of these winds was harsh—an ear-splitting scream.

One year ago today, a generational, catastrophic Category 5 hurricane made landfall in and devastated the island nation of Jamaica. The recovery has been challenging but Jamaicans are strong.

We sent a team out to survey the area NE of Randolph after receiving damage reports out of Hampton and given this was a very robust funnel cloud. We were unable to find evidence of tornadic damage in the area, though there was extensive wind damage likely due to a downburst #mnwx

Official statement, 2AM CDT release:
It's been brought to our development team's attention that someone has compromised the RadarOmega infrastrucutre. The intruder has redirected many in-app features to our website. It is unknown if this was done as a prank or ill intent. Regardless, we have blocked the redirects.
Our dev team has worked for over 2 hours now to try to identify and mitigate the cyber attack on RadarOmega out of good faith. Our dev team is tired and hungry. Our dev team is going to go to bed and rotate shifts to monitor the situation. Our dev team is fed up with foolery and all members want a sandwich or something at this point. We cannot identify the source.
We do not provide support for the RadarOmega app and we suggest emailing their support inbox.
While we do not have responsibility over the integrity of RadarOmega, we felt it was in our best duties to attempt to intervene, the same way we would want anyone to do for us.
We also do not condone any illegal intrusions of other software providers, such as RadarOmega.
Please continue to enjoy whichever app you wish to enjoy.
Thanks,
Dev team.
