In Parliament today, I challenged Gavin Williamson on university students having to pay £1 billion to landlords & universities for unused, empty rooms. His reply? There's a £70 million fund for students. That's like having £10 taken & getting 70p back. It's daylight robbery.

Students want a refund because they haven’t been given the quality of education. We recognise that this is no fault of our lecturers who are constantly having to change their way of teaching whenever the government finally decides to mention that universities can open again (2/2)

YES!! However, regardless of their degree, part of students’ tuition feed go towards buildings and facilities that they aren’t able to use. If we haven’t been able to use them, why are we expected to pay for them? #WRITEOFFRIGHTNOW

You can have a debate about whether someone studying History or English is entitled to fee rebates etc. But how can someone on a Fashion Design and Business degree described as "60% practice-based" graduate? It feels like a real scandal.
