Welsh police using intrusive facial recognition app
"Resorting straight to biometric surveillance when they're using so many unlawfully held images and when this technology....it's incredibly concerning." Jake Hurfurt tells ITV Wales News

ALT As an anti-racist youth work organisation supporting racialised young people who are harmed by police in Greater Manchester, we have had enough. The horrific violence that took place at Manchester Airport remains a threat to our young people as long as the police exist. Such harm is not isolated, but part of the mounting police violence we see used against children and young people in our city region. As we call this demo we are going into Manchester's super court, another site of police harm, for yet another sentencing of children in a Joint Enterprise trial. 'Gangs' policing, police pursuits, use of taser, stop and search, strip search, police in schools, surveillance, data profiling, the list is endless, and it is encroaching on every area of our young people's lives.

ALT We need to come out for and with our young people. It's time to mobilise around abolition. From St Peters to the Court, let's walk, let's shout, let's learn. Young people, we welcome you down with warmth and care. People will be on hand to look out for you, and feel free to make yourself known to staff. If you'd like to speak, you are more than welcome. Children, we welcome them! Bring your little ones, show them people are coming out for them. Adults, we expect you. We will hear from a number of speakers. It's time to mobilise. Let's harness our rage and upset, and turn it into hope. More walk and route information to come The walk will be stewarded A welfare team will be present
