After being hired in June at Roots Millennium Sialkot (citi housing campus), my sister worked unpaid summer camp, got official joining in July, but by 11 Sept principal removed her while keeping another art teacher. Salary still not deposited. We demans justice!
The Pakistan Air Chief is going to visit an important air base. A message to friend and foe alike — our skies are under watch, our resolve unshaken.

Today marks the 36th anniversary of the first aerial duel between the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and the Soviet Air Force. On August 4, 1988, a Soviet SU-25, an advanced fighter bomber, engaged in a fierce dogfight with a Pakistani F-16 over Pakistan's territory. The confrontation ended with the SU-25 being shot down and its pilot Colonel Rudskoi Alexander Vladimirovich, who also served as the Inspector of SU-25s in Afghanistan, was captured and taken as a prisoner of war. Colonel Rudskoi was eventually returned to Soviet authorities on August 16, 1988. The F-16 pilot, Squadron Leader Athar Bukhari of No 14 Squadron, was supported by the adept radar guidance of Squadron Leader Taufiq Raja. This encounter exemplified the high level of pilot-controller coordination and remains a pivotal event in the annals of aerial combat.

Taiwan anticipates receiving all 66 F-16V fighter jets by the end of 2026, overcoming previous technical challenges. Taiwan has finalized an NT$11.25 billion (US$345 million) contract with the United States for infrared search and track (IRST) systems, intended for integration into its fleet of F-16V fighter jets. These advanced IRST systems, part of a broader arms sale package announced in August 2023, are tailored specifically for the F-16V, enhancing its capabilities in target acquisition, tracking and air combat performance. The contract includes provisions for compensation in case of delivery delays not attributable to force majeure, emphasizing Taiwan's proactive stance in safeguarding its defence interests amid evolving geopolitical dynamics.

The Indo-Pak War of 1965 highlights the strategic impact of airpower, emphasizing the importance of air superiority. During the conflict, the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) operated American-supplied F-104 Starfighters, F-86 Sabres, B-57 bombers and RB-57 reconnaissance aircraft. Anticipating hostilities, then Air Chief Air Marshal Nur Khan put the PAF on high alert before the war began. This foresight, along with effective leadership and professionalism, was key in countering the numerically superior Indian Air Force (IAF). Despite a 3:1 force ratio, the PAF’s superior training and tactics allowed it to outmanoeuvre the larger IAF. By the war end, the IAF had lost 66 aircraft, while the PAF lost 12 F-86s, 1 F-104 and 3 B-57s. The PAF's performance highlighted its ability to stand against a larger foe, reflecting a legacy of excellence rooted in leadership, technology and training. This enduring legacy continues to ensure the security of Pakistan’s skies.

Since its inception, the Pakistan Air Force has not only safeguarded the nation against internal and external threats but has also been vigilant in disaster relief operations.
July 1954 - East Pakistan. In the early 1950s, PAF acquired 81 Bristol Freighter transport aircraft. These planes, though lumbering and noisy, were incredibly useful, undertaking a wide range of transport and communication tasks across Pakistan for over a decade. The painting below shows relief goods being unloaded at Chittagong airfield. These Freighters, vital during times of need, were eventually phased out in 1966 and replaced by the more advanced C-130s. The legacy of the PAF's commitment to both defense and humanitarian efforts remains strong to this day. #PAF #DisasterRelief #NationFirst #AviationHistory

Türkiye is revising its $23 billion defence contract with the U.S. to modernise its F-16 fleet, aiming to include offset agreements for local production to lower costs. Following Türkiye's approval of Sweden's NATO membership, the U.S. reciprocated with approval for its purchase of F-16 Vipers and modernisation kits. Türkiye is scaling back purchases amid financial constraints, focusing on savings through reduced modernisation kits and ammunition. Türkiye facilities like TUSAŞ and ASFAT Maintenance Factory in Eskişehir are pivotal for F-16 production and upgrades, with ongoing negotiations allowing adjustments within the $23 billion deal limit.

Air Commodore Qadri distinguished himself for his exceptional courage on May 17, 1986, when he successfully shot down 2 Afghan Su-22s during a Combat Air Patrol (CAP). Directed by radar controllers to intercept 4 enemy aircraft breaching Pakistani airspace near Parachinar, then Squadron Leader Qadri executed the interception flawlessly, using an AIM-9L Sidewinder missile and guns to neutralize the targets. His exceptional situational awareness and composed demeanor under pressure earned him the Sitara-e-Basalat award from the PAF. The Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), developed in collaboration with M/s CEIEC China, offers real-time, comprehensive threat warnings spanning 360 degrees to Pakistan Air Force aircraft. This technology significantly enhances their defence against radar-associated weapons. The JF-17 Thunder incorporates advanced avionics, including the crucial BM/KJ 8602 Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), enhancing its operational capabilities and survivability. The Pakistan Aeronautical Complex provides life cycle maintenance for both models of the RWR—BM/KJ-8602 and BM/KJ-8602A—ensuring sustained performance with features like multi-signal capability, integration potential with Chaff/Flare dispensers, high Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and a user-programmable Threat library. These advancements ensure heightened operational readiness and mission effectiveness for the Pakistan Air Force.
