As is customary for revenue tweets like this one, I've spent far too many hours compiling 10 million generic reasons for you to niche down your software

“Scrollytelling” - a design pattern we used at ZenMaid’s website to present our SaaS features in a way that makes their value as easy as possible to understand.
@ZenMaid is a scheduling software for maid service businesses in the US. Maid service owners looking into ZenMaid already have a workflow in place that they are looking to replace.
We know by looking at ourselves on how we’re buying products every day that every feature we are going to present them, they will compare to their current workflow in their head. They will try to envision the transformation they will experience and then decide if they want to go for ZenMaid or not.
Then, why not present our features by following their mental model instead of just listing down a collection of features like most SaaS products do on their website?
That’s why we came up with the “scrollytelling” design technique.
With this design technique we presented our product features through a real-life story. The story is a day in the life of a maid service business owners. A day in the life of our customers.
Here are some example moments from this story:
• We imagined a scenario where it’s Monday morning, maid service owners turn on their computers, and 10 new appointment requests are waiting for them. That’s where we explain them that instead of losing leads because they were away in the weekend, the ZenMaid high-converting booking forms, will automatically get them new cleanings while they’re away.
• Another part of the story involves a phone call with a customer who wants to book a new appointment. Instead of struggling to find a spot for them in their calendar, they can use the optimized calendar views of ZenMaid to book an appointment quickly and easily.
• The story continues following the same pattern... (if you want to see how it actually looks, make sure to watch the video in this post since I share the website there!)
From a UX point of view, we described exactly how the feature will fit into their daily lives and the transformation it will achieve using a concept that makes sense to them — a day in their lives.
The key takeaway for you:
Instead of presenting your product features and benefits in a long list where they are logically disconnected from each other, think of how your customer's life is going to change on a daily basis and try to present your features and benefits through that spectrum. This way, you will make it much easier for your website visitors to understand and feel the value and impact your SaaS can have on them.

Grit & consistency.
Yesterday ZenMaid hit 11 years in business
I largely credit our success to simply staying the game long enough for our results to compound once we found a niche product market fit
Quick math:
1st 5 years in business: less than $500k revenue
6 years later, we've generated over $8.5m
Don't give up.

Why we switched from Webflow to @framer to build our new SaaS website at @ZenMaid
With Framer, we don’t need any developer. I can design AND build the website on my own, and move 3x faster WITHOUT sacrificing any of my design quality. In contrast, I can make sure the quality is also higher without spending extra time.
Here is what I mean in detail:
• With Webflow, we needed a front-end Webflow developer. I couldn’t build the website on my own since, with Webflow, I had to understand how HTML and CSS work. This meant we had to pay an extra developer and slow down since we had to go through a “development and QA process” to make sure the end website would work as expected. Also, when working with developers, I know many details would get missed, and we would have to go through multiple iterations to get all the details right.
• In contrast, Framer is both a website and design tool, similar to Figma. I can add pages, frames, and notes around my designs easily. I can ideate, experiment, and iterate on a design by throwing things into the canvas. There are no limits. Once the design looks as it should, with the publish functionality, our design can go live at the speed of a click. There's no building step in the process – we can now design and publish all in one go.
• Since designing and building happen at the same, we can finish projects much faster. Designers in our team have full ownership and can pay more attention to the small details, like animations that can make our website stand out.
The key takeaway for you
Using Framer for your SaaS website can allow you to build a much better website without spending any extra money AND time. The reason this happens is because your designer is the designer AND the developer as well, and they can focus on details without spending weeks of additional iterations. There is no development layer in the process which means you can build new landing pages or iterations on your existing pages 3x faster compared to other tools.
