SO stoked to announce that Libre Talent has officially been acquired by Barack Obama and his team!!! I will officially be moving on to a radically new venture, effective immediately, in a new industry, and finally embarking on a career I am genuinely passionate about.

I think I can provide that support, at scale, and am very excited to begin. And THAT, at long fucking last, feels like a career I can be proud of. ---

*** Barack Obama has no idea what Libre Talent is, and most definitely did not acquire my recruiting agency. But that would've been quite an interesting grand finale to this decade I spent in talent acquisition!

Fascinating podcast episode about how evolution didn't focus as much on intelligence as many people have assumed. Key takeaway for me: - When engineering biological properties, assess how much evolution has already optimized the trait. - If evolution hasn't heavily optimized, there may be easily achievable improvements.

IF YOU STILL DON'T THINK LLMs HAVE INTERNAL MODELS OF THE WORLD, THEN I WOULD ARGUE THAT YOU (IRONICALLY) LACK A MODEL OF THE WORLD If you still believe that something can become completely fluent with language and converse coherently on a wide range of topics (many of which were not in its training data) and, despite this, you believe that it doesn't have an internal representation of the world, including what it contains and how those things operate and relate to each other -- if that is currently your belief, you are wrong, and a mounting body of evidence proves it.
