It’s used too much in global trade, but to save and hold your wealth in dollars is like holding a melting ice cube. Treasuries are the real issue. Not only were they weaponised, but you can see the fiscal irresponsibility of this administration. We took in over $5 trillion in tax revenue, spent over $7 trillion. Doesn’t work. When you look at fiscal irresponsibility coupled with questionable foreign policy and, in fact, weaponisation of the Treasury, many of these nations are seeing the wisdom in holding assets like gold that have no counterparty risk if held in their own possession.
