LIV Golf is moving into the liquidation phase, confirmed this morning in U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
There will be no LIV Golf 2.0. @ToddLewisGC and @ChambleeBrandel on Golf Central ⬇️

⛳️Great to hear of modern thinking making its way into course ratings (via the GHIN app). This will likely make a larger impact industry-wide than you expect. Many courses right now are unwilling to pay the cost & commit the time to host a rating team fiasco. And it’s a timestamp type rating anyway…very rarely current or able to account for man-made or other type changes/weather damage to a course (without formal re-rating). This modern update might even encourage courses to recommend the GHIN app be downloaded & used by course members as a result to maintain a current & accurate course rating.👏👏👏
⛳️Cool add of GPS, heat maps, rules AI, other information into the GHIN app. @WellsAdams quit hating on heat maps…information is not cheating.
⛳️PLACING the way to go for a “drop.”💯🎯
Easy to understand. Easy to implement. Time-saving rather than watching pros/players drop to corners of relief areas…2x, just to be able to finally place. Place within relief area granted, move on.
🐢on the market & I’m pretty sure @odysseygolf will have to sell at least 1,000 of each model to balance out the cost of the free ones I’m seeing on every “influencer” page. #Jealous #SendMeFreeStuff
FYI: Everyone seems to be reading from the same script. Mission Accomplished.
Feel like I’m getting old (& bitching) … or maybe it’s just a full season of this on a public golf course…but music on the golf course this season, damn.🤦♂️
Music to me is all about the volume, & I generally don’t care…but it’s highway speed now back to the beginning & volume 1000 & heard from over 100-yards away. And then actually worse, the same groups having to yell over it to be heard, which causes even greater disruption.
Keep jammin’ if that’s your thing … but turn it down where only you can hear it. 🎧🙉🎶

The right thing for him, sure. And eventually if it’s the right thing for enough people demand will drop and prices will drop.
But as it stands there are 28M on course golfers in the US and 12,000 public golf courses. 2300 players per public course is enormous.

I was sent a secret submission to the “the most Champions Tour pic ever”.
(Yes it’s real and yes the sponsor on the caddies bib is also real)

Ever wondered what it would cost to play the exact same clubs as Scottie Scheffler or Rory McIlroy?
We priced out the bags of the world's top 10 golfers.
Here's how much cash you'd have to spend: buff.ly/V1989mh

Does "never up, never in" apply to PGA Tour players?
Do the best players in the world get every putt to the hole?
I dug into 5 years of PGA Tour putting data to find out.
Inside 10 feet, almost nothing finishes short (3.4% or less). Then it climbs. Fast.
▶️20-24 feet: 26% short (about 1 in 4)
▶️30-34 feet: 40%
▶️45-49 feet: 49%
▶️70+ feet: 59%
From 45 feet and out, the best players on the planet leave about HALF their putts short. The best putters (top 20 in strokes gained putting) leave a few less short than the worst putters (ranked 160+). From 15-16 feet it's 11% vs 15%. So getting it to the hole matters the closer you are. As you move farther from the hole, the bigger difference is speed control.
Here's how to read the "Where Putts Finished" chart. Each bar shows where about 68% of missed putts finish (for the math nerds, that's plus or minus 1 standard deviation from the average “North/South” miss).
Where the bar sits shows where the misses are centered. From 20 and 30 feet, the bars sit mostly PAST the hole. As the putts get longer, the average miss moves back toward the hole. By 50 feet, the bar is centered right over it.
How long the bar is shows how good the speed control is. The number on the right is the length of that “speed control” zone. The shorter the bar, the tighter the distance control.
The best putters have the shorter bar at every distance, and the gap grows the farther back you go. From 50 feet, their zone is about 8 feet long. The worst putters' zone is almost 10 feet.
Tighter distance control means a shorter next putt. Shorter next putts mean fewer three-putts.

These 14 players didn’t miss from inside 3ft this year. That’s 9,195 makes.
When I play with them, it’s good.
With anyone else? 🤷♂️

Not surprisingly I’ve made a mistake.
Please follow @motocaddyusa (the account above is the global brand, so not a huge mistake. lol)
You will need to be following the USA account in order to win one in the giveaway next week. So might as well do it now

Stop guessing chips. Start matching the club. ⛳️
7-iron = 1:7 (putt it)
9-iron = 1:4 (low & run)
PW = 1:2 (my go-to)
52° = 1:1 (over fringe)
56° = 2:1 (stop it)
RULE: Get it on the green ASAP, then let it roll.
More green
Less loft

Thoughts from Baycurrent/Japan:
-Always love coming to Japan. Love the food, the culture and the people. Everyone is super respectful and player dining here is prob best of the yr for me.
-Played with Adam Scott on Sat for the first time in a tournament. He makes the game look so damn easy tee to green. Perfect looking swing, it feels like he can never shoot over par haha. Two eagles on the front nine always helps the scorecard. Super cool playing with another guy I really wanted to be like growing up.
-They had Michelin star restaurant chefs make sushi for us. They also cut open a big tuna in front of us on two of the days as well.
