"After AI, what's the point" I feel like this will apply to every field in a near future. AI being better than humans in every domain will just remove purpose from everything. Finding purpose in yesterday's world was already exhausting. In tomorrow's, it will be impossible.
"Before AI, you could publish open-source code, write blog posts to share ideas or inspire other people, write expository texts like tutorials, forum posts, textbooks etc. to teach people. After AI, what’s the point?" borretti.me/article/no-man-i…

It’s getting worse and worse. New study shows experts completely surrender their judgments to AI, and they don’t even realise it. Fifty professional analysts used Claude Code to analyse data and advise a fictional farming cooperative. They faced four analytical decisions, followed by a final policy recommendation. Unknown to them, AI advice was experimentally manipulated to lean towards opposite directions. The results are disturbing. Across the four analytical decisions, experts chose the AI’s preferred option 86% of the time. Afterwards, half of the experts rated the final recommendation as more their own than the AI’s, and only 15% mentioned the AI in any explanation. Epistemia is reaching the experts: we risk outsourcing judgment while preserving the illusion of intellectual independence. What could possibly go wrong? * Paper in the first reply

Corporate greed is Microsoft making $134 billion in profits last year, receiving $19 billion in tax breaks under Trump, paying a lower federal income tax rate than a nurse and getting rid of 60,000 workers. “Corporations will create jobs if they get tax breaks” is a total scam.

Sorry to be blunt, but if you're not at least multi-millionnaire and you support AI, you're not thinking straight. Whether you use AI or not, the powerful won't have any problem letting you rot in poverty once machines can sustain all their needs and desires.

So tired of this question. The rich already own everything, they have everything they need, they no longer need us. THEY NO LONGER NEED US. They don't need a working economy. THEY WON. THEY HAVE EVERYTHING. They will step over your dead body on the way to the golf course.
Serious question: If AI eventually becomes capable of doing 80% of the jobs humans do today, who exactly is going to have enough money to buy the products and services these companies are selling? I feel like we’re skipping over a pretty important part of this conversation. 🤔
