He should resign, then, since it's fraud, otherwise, for him to eat three square meals a day and have a nice roof over his head, on the basis that the Church is in fact there to convert
Cardinal Vesco says Catholic Church is ‘not there to convert’ in interview on evangelisation Cardinal Jean-Paul Vesco has said the Church is “not there to convert”, arguing that proselytism is “poison” and that Christians should approach other religions through fraternity rather than seeking conversions ✍️@NiwaLimbu1988 advaticanum.com/article/card…

Beauty draws, attracts, convicts. Nothing has been as harmful to Catholicism as the turn from beauty, which is the radiance of the truth
One of our staff members ordered lunch from DoorDash. The driver went to the wrong door and accidentally came into the cathedral when the office is next door. He had never been in a Catholic church. He was struck by the beauty. He made the delivery, went home and started researching Catholicism. He just started OCIA. Beauty attracts.

Let's be lovers of the Church Fathers, on whose shoulders the Magisterium rests, instead of always trying to change everything "because it's different now." St. Cyril of Alexandria: Accordingly, in affirming that they are sent by him just as he was sent by the Father, Christ sums up in a few words the approach they themselves should take to their ministry. From what he said they would gather that it was their vocation to call sinners to repentance, to heal those who were sick whether in body or spirit, to seek in all their dealings never to do their own will but the will of him who sent them, and as far as possible to save the world by their teaching. Surely it is in all these respects that we find his holy disciples striving to excel. To ascertain this is no great labour, a single reading of the Acts of the Apostles or of Saint Paul’s writings is enough.

It's really too bad that the unborn don't have a way to offer the bishops' conference remuneration in exchange for untiring protection. Children awaiting mutilation surgery and chemical assault in hospitals could use this sort of energy on their behalf. Oh well
U.S. bishops are opposing proposed Census Bureau rule changes for the 2030 census, arguing that excluding noncitizens without lawful permanent resident status from the apportionment count would effectively deny them recognition as persons. ewtnnews.com/world/us/u-s-bi…

Right now the children of the world are waiting for grown-*ss men to stop treating James Martin SJ like a delicate flower. Stand up to him and to all of them.
Replying to @ArdorNew
It’s a psy-op to keep everyone in a theology spiral. Martin is a liar. Because of his Vatican backing everyone treats him like a fragile doll while he grooms young people. Phil and I run it down here leilamarielawler.substack.co… And I have the catalogue of his deceptions here: leilamarielawler.substack.co…

Reminder that The Lancet published and later retracted this completely fake study that was used to discredit hydroxychloroquine and mislead people to think it was not effective and dangerous. This was the most egregious medical and academic fraud in the history of the world.

“Jews can’t help wanting to murder babies” - ++Cupich, probably
It would be difficult to find something more antisemitic than this statement by the Chicago archdiocese in which they imply that supporting child murder is central to Jewish identity. That is a lie. There are many pro-life Jews.

Researchers gave office workers who lived under LEDs a 60W incandescent desk lamp. Two weeks later, every one of them had their color vision improve by 25%. In 2022, the government banned those bulbs for "wasting" energy. But that "waste" is actually one of the most important nutrients our bodies depend upon, and the improvement lasted for weeks after the lamps were taken away (while nothing changed in the controls). Decades of forgotten research show the artificial light we replaced it with is a root cause of many inexplicable illnesses (e.g., insomnia, obesity, cancer, and hyperactivity in children). Here I show what that research found and why Senator Mike Lee’s bill to bring these bulbs back, which has now cleared a Senate committee, matters.🧵 midwesterndoctor.com/p/the-h…

"You have to have cameras at every corner" is a hell of a "solution" when the actual problem is parents letting little girls online!! Again, those on the right need to do better with these lines of thinking. You are not convincing me at all, and I'm way further to the right than you.
Two months before Allie was kidnapped, someone vandalized three of the six Flock cameras in nearby Woodruff, South Carolina. Allie's kidnapper almost certainly drove by one of the downed cameras. If those cameras hadn't been vandalized, Allie could have been home much sooner.

It all sounds so good, if boring, until you realize it's about gays
Cardinal Fernández has said his latest document on transmitting the faith interests neither “progressives nor conservatives” “Pope Francis’s call for a renewed missionary proclamation of the kerygma hasn’t changed the pastoral plans of dioceses and movements,” he said. He also commented on homosexuals, divorced & re-married who “feel rejected by the Church” Read on @CatholicHerald

Jesus taught us to count years up instead of down, which was a huge deal, because right before he was born we were down to our last year.

This reminds me of all the times I actually read the "fact checks" during lockdown and ALL OF THEM supported what I had said. They started out "X is not true" and then two paragraphs down it was "so X is true"
Glenna did an unusual thing that people typically don't do: she checked a citation in a law review article to see whether the citation said what the authors claimed it did. She found that the citation said the opposite of what the authors claimed it did. She then asked the editor of the law review for a correction. The editor did not reply to the request. She then asked the authors for comment on the incorrect citation. The authors acknowledged that the citation was erroneous and regretted the error. The authors then insisted that the citation did not matter to their actual argument because nothing in their argument depended on the citation being right. Glenna then wrote a post explaining why the erroneous citation was in fact important to their actual argument, and why the erroneous citation also exposed a wider ignorance of the subject on which the authors were writing. (She claims, convincingly, that it's important to know what sex is in order to understand what sex discrimination is, and that being able to define what sex is is an inextricable aspect of knowing what sex is.) I consulted with some lawyer friends in a chat group who helpfully explained to me that no one ever reads footnotes, no one checks the underlying references, and no one cares if they are correct or not because law review articles like the one Murray and Shaw published are merely political advocacy masquerading as legal scholarship that no one reads, and therefore not to expect the Supreme Court Review to issue a correction for a citation that the authors are on the record admitting was erroneous. Do I have all that right, @williambaude?

I’ve asked this before but is there any historical event that is like the Opposite of 9/11. Like something so good that happened that it changed the world forever

From the WHO: the covid shot can cause MS. Here's a little idea: eat well, get some sunshine, don't trust pharma
“The World Health Organization” now states on its website: “COVID-19 vaccination can cause multiple sclerosis due to cross-reactive CD4+ T cells that recognize the spike protein of SARS-CoV-2 and myelin peptides.” In other words, your own immune system destroys the nerve pathways and then attacks your brain and spinal cord. This data was available during the lockdowns but was labeled as a “conspiracy theory” and censored by social media.
