As has been said before, the firewall exists to protect the rest of the world from elite Chinese posters.

Obsessed with this guy who finds the most boring average looking men in Boston and then street harasses them (“who let this DADDY outside?!”), and they absolutely LOVE IT and are beaming from the attention. Much to consider here

Should Europe leave frontier AI to the Americans and the Chinese? The idea has gained ground in Europe. It is a fundamental mistake. Build or surrender: for now, the choice is still ours. Full article below.

Completely absurd & disgraceful "Sally Rooney says she can no longer sell books in UK due to Palestine Action support. She can no longer receive royalties from British sales and she cancelled UK trip due to fear of arrest" theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…

Good to see Donald buy Russian diesel instead of Canadian. I know its right on USA border but they sell imperialist, woke diesel that makes your truck gay.

1/ Today we’re launching an open letter calling on the government to end unfair restrictions that stop Britain’s best switching jobs or starting companies. UK AI companies that have raised $5bn agree: our best should be free to start and scale. 🧵 @downingstreet @biztradegovuk

Born profoundly deaf, Gargi Agrawalla knew hotel fire alarms could leave her behind. She built SIVO.GO, a portable alarm that turns urgent sounds into vibrations and light. It just won the UK's James Dyson Award. Today's Rogue Hero. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckpq…

I find this overt anti intellectualism very disturbing. It is particularly weird to see it coming from supposed "right-wingers". It's as if they've never thought about the fact that "conserving values" depends on sustaining an intellectual tradition and the hollowing out of intellectual disciplines isn't a good idea for civilization.

Women's right to be treated equally, paid & taken seriously as @_alice_evans says a very recent, hard-fought, and fragile phenomenon. Yet it's often taken completely for granted in the West. It is will be easily eroded unless protected. That's why gaily supporting male dominance as @stellacreasy does is so dangerous for women's lives.
In 1900, the entire world was patriarchal: men ran every institution and elevated their righteous dominance. Men protected their own, preserved jobs for the boys, and locked women out. Smashing those old boys clubs, securing legal victories, and normalising men and women's equal participation in public life is frankly one of the most consequential revolutions in world history. Yet European institutions are reluctant to protect this great advance for equality? ht @jennirsl

Super happy to officially announce that we are a̶c̶q̶u̶i̶r̶i̶n̶g̶ joining forces with @nvidia 🔥 Here is a more personal take: AI is at an inflection point. Open source AI can become less relevant in the coming years if the big closed labs run away with it, OR it can become the foundational fabric of the next phase of human civilization. Those are vastly different outcomes, and we need the critical mass to ensure we give our collective best shot to the second outcome. Given @JensenHuang's stance on open source AI and how he stepped up to defend it when it was under threat earlier in the summer, NVIDIA was the only partner we truly considered. HF will remain an independently run, neutral platform. This gives fuel to our long-term vision and mission of unlocking the community's progress to ensure that AI, which is the greatest breakthrough of our lifetime, is accessible to as many people as possible.

I moved to Stockholm 2 weeks ago and on my 10 min walk to the Lovable office I casually pass Spotify, Klarna, Northzone, Legora and a bunch of startups being built in between. Sweden might actually be cooking.
Sweden is perhaps one of the world’s hottest tech hubs right now. And Sophia Bendz, a general partner at Cherry Ventures, stopped by Equity to break down the latest in Stockholm’s startup ecosystem. Her answer for why the country has produced so many buzzy startups? Being a founder is actually cool. spr.ly/6016B1FJUn

“Look at my incredible new factory!” Yo that’s cool, what do you make? “It’s highly optimised, fully automated, zero tolerance for defects and with a continuous feedback cycle” Cool cool, so what do you actually make? “I can interact with it on my phone, laptop, messenger, completely async, and the shared context means it’s always learning how to get better” Very impressive, but what do you make? “Every agent has full context, can spawn other agents, review their work, fix defects, and ship continuously.” yes yes. WHAT DOES IT MAKE? “Software.” Oh nice. What software? “Well right now we’re mostly using it to improve the factory.” Improve it to make what? “Anything!” Such as? “…a better factory.”
