Combine this with players like Dias, donnarumma who are just past their best and trying to cling on and you are going to get yourself into a mess at times. Guehi, Gvardiol, Doku, kushanov are currently just playing at levels below what they have before.
I’ve generally been liking Gvardiol at LB, but think we need him at LCB now. Having a left footed cb is way too important to just skip over imo
It’s funny how Maresca pretty much coached Delap to be that player and watched him score those two goals so often and he’s just used it against him today
I do think the positioning of Gvardiol and Enzo F isn’t good. They are forming a very rigid front 5 and it’s not actually supporting the midfield or wingers. They would be better off deeper to help isolate wingers and provide under laps in my opinion
