Killing UK citizens?
What are you on about?
How did this move from debating the merits of a bookshop being allowed at an event to accusing someone of supporting mass murder of UK citizens?

That's as meaningless as your initial vague accusation. It leads me to believe you're afraid of committing libel so malicious insinuations are the only 'weapon' in your repertoire. So many women have already said that, and now I've seen it myself.
Telling the struggle sessioners to pack it in apparently means I want to kill British citizens over their skin colour.
One of them is now wondering why they’re blocked. They were so nice don’t you know. Mystery for the ages.

I’m still trying to work out the logic of not agreeing with cancel culture but being ok with debating the merits / demerits of deporting or killing UK citizens on the basis of their colour. I mean, deporting or killing someone is the ultimate cancel culture I would have though.

We're going to raise people's taxes to give money to people who can't afford things because we put up taxes on things.
This will be co-ordinated by a task force. Which will be funded by taxes.
Given the leading role of third worlders in the rape statistics as the perpetrators, I think we have successfully decolonised rape.
A great victory of intersectional feminism!

The last thing Britain needs right now is an influx of Gazan students who have been taught pro-Hamas propaganda.
Our government is willingly inviting a national security threat. Nobody voted for this level of suicidal empathy.

The country is three trillion pounds in debt. We’re giving £10 billion to Ukraine.
By any objective standard, this is insanity.

She does. Attractive people aren’t perfect, they’re unique. Take that away and you’ve taken away what made them attractive. Standard issue generic blahness that makes her look like she’s trying to turn back the clock. Only she’s in her 30s, not her 50s. She’s aged herself.

Yep. That she frames it as "right wing zionists" vs "left wing anti racists" illustrates she views zionism as a right wing racist endeavour that left wing "anti racists" like herself are fighting against.

If you're in the zionism is racism camp, Labour's not far left enough for you. The Greens are a better fit.

What sort of country gives loads of its people's money to other countries, then pleads poverty to its people and taxes them into oblivion?

This video from Iran shows everything you need to know about the regime.
A lone woman, already on the ground, surrounded by men, beaten by an armed IRGC thug with his rifle butt.
In Iran, the IRGC doesn't protect people — it hunts them. Women are kicked, blinded, imprisoned and killed for the crime of wanting freedom.
This is what oppression looks like in Iran.
Iranian women face guns, batons and death just for demanding a normal life.
She survived this beating. So many others like #MahsaAmini, #ArmitaGaravand did not.
Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization.
Be the voice of Iranian women.

This is so disappointing. Fundamentally all NGOs have the capacity for exploiting people, and too often they get a pass for way too long.

Why is Martin Lewis being told things before the house of commons?
CONFIRMED. Gas Standing Charges to be scrapped. I've just come out of a meeting with the Chancellor. The gas standing charge will be scrapped in 2027 (my guess, either for 1 Oct price cap or the 1 Jan 28 price cap). Having campaigned against the moral hazard of standing charges for years, I'm pleased.
It's currently £108 a year. That cost will be shifted onto unit rates. We don't know how much yet, but I suspect just under 1p per kwH.
The Chancellor also said he will be talking to Ofgem about how they get rid of the charge on electricity as well, but that is 'trickier' apparently and will take longer.
This is primarily about the price cap standing charges. There will still be an open market, so other firms can offer other forms of prices with or without the standing charge. My suspicion is that once it goes on the price cap, it will tend to be reduced on other tariffs as well.
As for those on fixes: if you get a fix now, the rate of your fix is fixed, so this should not affect it. You will pay what you pay and if it has standing charges they will continue (some asking if they should delay fixing because of this, no if a fix is right for you and will save you money, don't let this change that - this is about the structure of bills, as opposed to the actual costs on bills).
About 60% of people will pay less due to this, 40% more. My guesstimate is the dividing line will be somewhere around 12,500 kilowatt hours of gas (can't know until there is actual pricing). According to a study by Nesta, this switch would leave the majority of people in all income groups under £100,000 better off.
Of course, when this does come in, if we're still in the nightmare that we are right now, there will need to be support put in for vulnerable higher users, who will have to pay more. Though hopefully by then the mid-east will have calmed and energy prices lower.
---------------
That's all long term. The biggest issue in energy right now is that we're expecting a 27% rise in the price cap in January. I asked the Chancellor whether he will be intervening on that. He told me I'd have to wait for the budget, but reading between the lines, yes, there will be an announcement today.
Whether it's an increase in the Warm Home Discount, or whether it's council tax banned, or whether it's done via a payout for people in say council tax bands A-D as a proxy for household income as Rishi Sunak did who knows.
