By God, I made the same mistake during my first appearance at the High Court. In a bid to apply for a stand down, I called the Judge "My love" instead of "My Lord." My Lord pretend as if she no hear wetin I talk 😆.
Young lawyer was appearing in court for the first time today and I think he over rehearsed it with his babe at home. Fellow just called a magistrate as "Babe, I would want to rejoin" 😂😂. I couldn't wait to get out and laugh but we all did anyway including the magistrate 😂

Saying my friend should not marry my sister is synonymous with saying I should not do business with my family or friend(s) or we should not share the same house with my brother and our wives. With whom else then? Someone I can barely trust? C'mon!

A man would say yes to save the woman from embarrassment. A woman would never save the man she doesn't like from such embarrassment. Infact, he's not the one getting embarrassed, she's the one. Women are ruthless, men aren't. Pick up the pieces and keep it moving.
Na here the eleya take start.😭😭

I am sick of Northern Nigeria. Nothing good comes out of that place. It's always death and destruction. How can Nigeria thrive when we have a whole region destined to fail? How can a people be so useless to world, even to themselves? They have become one of the poverty capitals of the world. They have millions of out-of-school children, some of whom will inevitably become tomorrow's terrorists. They personify religious extremism. Northern Nigeria is a killing field, basking in retrogression. What does Nigeria benefit from Northern Nigeria? See, we had better prepare our minds because if the Yoruba people intend to be great, it almost certainly wouldn't happen within Nigeria, and we know those who are too desperate to keep Nigeria alive because they know they are doomed outside of it. Yoruba, prepare your mind for the possibility of war in the future, and plan accordingly. Only the strong survive!

The most loving thing you can do for the people around you is get your own life together. When you're rested, you're more patient. When you're healthy, you show up better. When your work is going well, you're easier to be around. When you respect yourself, people feel it. Taking care of yourself is not separate from taking care of the people you love. It's the foundation of it.

Your message has been received. You seem rather uninformed about what Nigerians benefit from trading with the North, so let me give you a few examples: hides and skins, cattle, cereals and grains, and cash crops such as groundnuts, sesame seeds, soybeans, shea nuts and shea butter, among others. Beyond agriculture and livestock, the North also has significant mineral resources, including lithium, copper, nickel, columbite-tantalite, niobium, titanium-bearing minerals, zircon sand and rare-earth-bearing minerals such as bastnäsite etc. So, if your argument is that the North contributes nothing to Nigeria's economy, you're simply wrong. Ignorance may be bliss, but it doesn't make a false argument true. I don't expect bigot like who appears to harbour such hostility towards the North to appreciate its contributions. That's entirely your business. But disguising that hostility and bitterness as a call for Yorubas to take up arms in pursuit of a better future is absolutely ridiculous. You can advocate for a better Nigeria without demonising an entire region or encouraging conflict.

Apt. These 7 points are about ensuring that any statement you give is voluntary, accurate, and made with a full understanding of your rights. Your statement is evidence; treat it with the same care you would give to any document that bares your signature.
7 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE WRITING A STATEMENT AT A POLICE STATION. 1. Request access to your lawyer. Before making a statement, request the presence of your lawyer, particularly if you are being questioned as a suspect. Do not allow yourself to be intimidated into making a statement you do not understand. 2. Avoid leaving blank spaces. When you finish writing, draw a line through any unused space to prevent unauthorised additions. Where practicable, sign immediately after the final sentence. 3. Never sign a statement made under duress. If you are being threatened, intimidated or forced to make a statement, clearly communicate your objection and request legal assistance. In a situation where your objection and request are being ignored, sign by writing just “UD.” This means under duress, and explain it to your lawyer afterwards or explain it to the court. 4. If an officer writes your statement for you, be careful. If you cannot write and an officer records your statement as you dictate it, insist that the statement be read back to you. Confirm that it accurately reflects your words before signing or acknowledging it. And also tell the officer to include that he was the one who wrote it as you dictate. 5. Stick to the facts relevant to you. State only what you know and what is relevant to the matter. Avoid unnecessary explanations, speculation or assumptions. Never include anything you know to be false. And of course, write it to protect your interests. 6. Do not allow anyone to dictate your account. Your statement should reflect your own account of events, not a version supplied to you by an officer. Do not adopt words or allegations you do not understand or agree with. 7. Protect the integrity of every page. If you cannot fill a page, draw a line through the remaining blank space. Read the entire statement carefully, page by page, before signing it. Remember: Your statement may become important evidence in a criminal investigation or subsequent court proceedings. Take your time, understand what you are signing and seek legal advice whenever possible.

As a lawyer, it's okay to be under pressure by family, friends, clients and everyone. The world has high expectations of you from the day you start studying law but then, calm down and take a step at a time.

Cheers.
No amount of gaslighting will make us bow down or abandon our faith. You don't have to believe in Islam, but you don't get to dictate how we practice it. Our faith, our right, our conviction.

The client sees the performance; the court sees the preparation. Advocacy is often won in the gap between the two.
I was in court earlier today to seek an extension of an injunction pending final hearing. From the papers and the way the court was responding, I could sense we were likely to get the order. My client, however, seemed unsettled and kept passing me distracting notes, perhaps wondering why I wasn’t doing more. We got the order. He was surprised. I had expected it. It reminded me how much of advocacy happens before counsel even rises to speak. Clients may expect shouting, gesticulating, dramatic submissions, ritual incantations, but sometimes the real work is already in the papers, the preparation and the strategy. Sometimes, the work that wins a case is the work the client never sees. A good lawyer must not only know the law, but also learn to read the court.

Counsel, that application is necessary. Ensure you move in terms on the hearing day.
I intend to apply and accompany my Application with a Motion for Accelerated Silk coupled with an Affidavit of Extreme Urgency. 🥹🥺

They say Stevenson vowed never to pay. Then Donoghue's Lawyer said: "Neighbour, pay thy neighbour." After payment, Donoghue opened the envelope, saw the compensation cheque, and shouted: "Finally! Stevenson sent me something without a snail in it!" 😆 🤣
brooo this cracked me up 😂 If you do not get it at first read and glance, you didn't study hard enough in school 😂😂😭

A man with one wife has a roommate. A man with two or more wives has a kingdom. Peace is not in begging for love, peace is in having options. If you can afford it, take it and stop pretending you are holy for being broke. Provided you can afford it, do it. It's legal!

I think the best quality a man can have is FRAME. The ability to be stable and rational in the midst of chaos. Since I started looking into that I've been getting alot of respect from people that are even older than me. I recommend you read 'The Wall Speaks' by Jerr Rej.
