I've been wanting to build this project for a year, and I finally did it. Its called Caracal7, an experimental SNARK prover designed for GPUs, by using the prime field 127. And it is top 5 on all of the @eth_proofs client side benchmarks 1/9

For anyone who's been wanting to do more GPU targeted work, I recommend playing with mojo. It's good language and AI does surprisingly well with it. Biggest benefit is ability to run on both apple and Nvidia GPU with a single codebase, which is why I used it for my zk prover experiment
I'm happy to share that Mojo and MAX are now fully open - for development, extension, and commercial use! This includes the full Mojo programming language, but also the MAX graph compiler, MLRT runtime internals, and hardware abstraction logic. Get your agents going!👇

In hindsight it's obvious for protocols codesigned with their hooks to have this feature. A pervasive issue with a simple solution.
Today we're excited to introduce a new standard for V4 hook tokens. Our proposal to combat malicious vampire pools has been merged into Uniswap's URC repository as URC-5: Token Venue Policy. One standard defining where tokens trade to officially own their markets.

HOLY SHIT. For crypto, this is one of the most insane posts of the year, but I'm guessing most people don't understand it. Let me explain... Bitcoin's accounts, and subsequently Ethereum's (and therefore every other EVM chain's), are built on a specific elliptic curve called secp256k1. secp256k1 is a different elliptic curve from the one used across nearly every modern hardware device, including iPhones. Modern devices mostly use a different curve called secp256r1, which is usually referred to as P-256 - one of the curves investigated in the article. This mismatch has made it sooo difficult in the past to integrate crypto accounts natively into the security systems of modern hardware. For example, Apple's Secure Enclave natively supports P-256, not secp256k1. This has prevented crypto accounts from being able to use the same hardware protection as things like Apple Pay. Same goes for the web with passkeys - WebAuthn uses P-256 signatures, which means Ethereum accounts using secp256k1 can't use them natively either. But why did Satoshi do this? The main theory for choosing secp256k1 was distrust of the P-256 curve - i.e. he thought there was an NSA backdoor. A "backdoor" here basically means a secret, intentional weakness in the curve that would allow the NSA to exploit it and access private keys. This was because P-256 was created with involvement from the NSA... And the NSA provided a mysterious "seed" used to generate one of the curve's parameters without explaining where that seed came from. This eventually transformed into a ~25-year-old mystery with a 5-figure reward for finding where this seed came from. Claude figured it out in less than 30 mins. And the best part is its internal thinking was: "Hmm wait... is it suspicious that such an obvious thing wasn’t discovered in 25 years?" The solution was stupidly simple - just the time the curve was created, put into a specific random number generator function. This doesn't 100% prove there's no backdoor yet, but it provides strong evidence that this seed wasn't secretly engineered by the NSA. And Claude did this with "just a simple prompt" in under 30 minutes.

Think bug free vibe coding (even at much higher token cost) could be huge for crypto applications and was waiting for someone smarter than me to see if bend was de way for it
The era of bug free vibe coding is near. Bend2 has the potential to be the ultimate frontend compiler language. I stripped out bend2 runtime so it can emit anything. evm, wasm, anything you want. Go ham github.com/ind-igo/bend-fron…

For me, client-side proving is where zk matters most. It can keep your data private, but only if you generate it yourself. And if its is too slow for your device, it gets outsourced, and your data goes with it. While most zk work is focused on large serverside cases, the most impactful work will remain on the client. We need more development and exploration here.

for some reason, many smart folks seems to be kinda sleeping on Bend (??). so I want to give my take as to why this is so good. Bend 2 is basically a software factory language. the issue with models is that they will fuck up for your stuff without telling you, and in general cannot be trusted blind, thus making the "software factory" not super viable in practice. Bend acts as basically a replacement for what a .md does in a software factory. it defines the objectives and then it is up to the model to figure out the impl. you dont need to look at the impl because it is formally verified by the end of it. It's the whole point. YOU DONT NEED TO LOOK AT THE FINAL IMPL ANYMORE, THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART. this is also why it is superior to lean. you can write the shittiest laws known to man in the most shitty and inneficient way possible and the final code will still be as performant as it can get within Bend's bounds. while disregarding concurrency and all that other annoying stuff.

Bend 2 is here! It is a new programming language that blocks AI mistakes via *proof checking* - the same technique big AI labs used to solve open math problems, like Navier-Stokes. It is also very fast, and runs on GPUs. Watch the video. Link in the comments.
RELEASE DAY After almost 10 years of hard work, tireless research, and a dive deep into the kernels of computer science, I finally realized a dream: running a high-level language on GPUs. And I'm giving it to the world! Bend compiles modern programming features, including: - Lambdas with full closure support - Unrestricted recursion and loops - Fast object allocations of all kinds - Folds, ADTs, continuations and much more To HVM2, a new runtime capable of spreading that workload across 1000's of cores, in a thread-safe, low-overhead fashion. As a result, we finally have a true high-level language that runs natively on GPUs! Here's a quick demo:
