Please be honest for once for goodness sake.
We understand that the EFF is a Pan-Africanist party, and nobody is asking it to abandon that principle. But please read the room. Representing people means listening to their lived experiences, not arguing them out of what they experience.
A political leader doesn't have to accept every allegation as established fact, and crime should never be attributed to an entire nationality. But that doesn't mean dismissing the people raising concerns.
When people on the ground raise concerns about crime, drug trafficking, rape, hijackings, pressure on clinics and hospitals, unemployment and service delivery, you cannot dismiss their grievances by telling foreigners to find creative ways to access the country.
You don’t have to promote xenophobia to take people’s concerns seriously. Pan-Africanism and protecting South Africans are not mutually exclusive.
You cannot claim to represent the people while constantly making them feel that you are defending everyone except the people standing in front of you.
