The real horror of Halloween.
Artificial cobweb: a bit of fake fun for you, but a very real and terrifying death for them.
If you see your neighbours using it, it's possible they don't know the danger so please print out this simple leaflet and pop it through their door:
tinyurl.com/HalloweenHedgeho…
The fine, strong synthetic fibres of this lethal 'web' are difficult for animals to see at dusk and can quickly wrap around their legs, wings, and neck, trapping and killing birds, insects and mammals.
When Eden the hedgehog struggled to free herself the web tightened, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
Can you imagine the pain and sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless, only an inch above the ground but suffering slow strangulation.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
Tragically her constriction injuries were too severe to survive, and poor Eden had to be put to sleep.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, I beg you - take it down now.
Please spread this vital information, and help save lives.

The UK government has spent years heaping costs, regulation and tax uncertainty onto British food producers, Farmers, and Small businesses - then turns around and tells the public to stockpile three days of tinned food and bottled water because "unexpected events seem to be becoming more common."
Official figures show a net loss of more than 3,000 agriculture, forestry and fishing businesses in 2025 alone, the highest on record, with thousands more closures in the years before that. Inheritance tax changes on family farms (even after partial U-turns), soaring energy and inspection costs, labour shortages, post-Brexit trade deals that opened the door to cheaper imports, and chaotic subsidy schemes that left most applicants empty-handed have all piled on the pressure.
Local abattoirs have collapsed from roughly 2,500 in the 1970s to around 200 today; surveys of farmers show large numbers warning they may have to stop producing meat locally or exit entirely if the next one closes.
This week the government launched its "Be Ready" campaign, advising households to keep non-perishable food, litres of bottled water per person, cash, torches and radios in case of cyber attacks, extreme weather or other disruptions. That is sensible basic preparedness.
What is absurd is watching the same state systematically weaken the domestic producers who actually grow and process the food that would make the country more resilient in the first place, while imports fill the gap and rural businesses fold.
You cannot talk seriously about national resilience and food security while watching the infrastructure that produces British food shrink year after year. The contradiction is obvious.

I know how boring this account is when we’re trying to sell something but that’s the entire purpose of setting it up.
I’m a one person business paying daft money for ingredients, power, wages, and trying to keep my prices fair.
We have a sale on at the moment. We need you to help us keep the lights on.
Thanks 🌶️

Just having a look at what vegan butter is made from. When I make my own it’s literally double cream (a direct component of milk production) and sea salt. That’s it. But apparently 👇

A real tragedy from the Welsh valleys inspired one of Stereophonics’ defining early songs. Kelly Jones based “Local Boy in the Photograph” on a young man he had known through football who later died on a railway line. Jones turned the story into a tribute rather than simply dwelling on the tragedy. The track came from the band’s 1997 debut album Word Gets Around and initially reached No. 51 in the UK before a 1998 re-release climbed to No. 14. By Glastonbury that summer, Stereophonics were rapidly becoming one of Britain’s biggest new guitar bands, with the song already established as an emotional live favourite.
