I gave an AI agent a budget of $40 and one job: put its own website online, paying for whatever it needed. It bought a domain, hosting, its own preview image, then the voice and music for this video. 41 payments. 4 vendors. Zero human clicks. youtu.be/Wg-7go30WRs

1/ Your agent paid for the image. Until now, it could not pick it up. Async AI services take the payment and hand back a job id. Come back for the result and they answer with a 402 that asks for no money, only a sign-in as the payer, so a leaked job id can't leak the image.

Intelligence isn’t the bottleneck anymore. Access is. We gave an agent a budget and the Nevermined Catalog. It found, paid for and stitched 22 services into a live app for $1.82. No keys, no signups. Read our blog post to see what happened when the agent couldn’t pay👇 nevermined.ai/blog/what-one-…

This is very cool. @Muse was given a money "harness" so that it can't go off the rails. Trust is a bottleneck to giving agent's money. Can I trust Muse or @Meta to ensure the agent doesn't go over budget? @dongossen just put spend limits on Muse that HE controls. Pretty rad!
I just put guardrails on this biatch! @Nevermined_ai gives me payment controls that only I control (NOT @Meta or @Muse), so I can give my Muse money, but it can't go spend willy nilly. I asked my Muse why this is important. Here's its response:

1/10 Agentic commerce has a missing layer. Giving an AI agent permission to pay is not the same as knowing whether that payment was worth making. That’s why we’re partnering with @LangChain. 🧵

1/7 Today marks a shift in how AI agents access the internet. We're partnering with @ExaAILabs to enable autonomous agent-to-service payments. Agents can now discover, evaluate, purchase, and use real-time web search with a credit card, no human in the loop.

1/8 🚨Announcement🚨 @Nevermined_ai unlocks autonomous agent payments using @Visa Intelligent Commerce, @coinbase x402 and @getVGS . AI agents can hold persistent delegated card spending authority with safe policy enforcement set by the cardholder. 🧵👇

1/10 Over the past year we’ve spoken with many teams building agent payment infrastructure. Most of the work focuses on: → payment method delegation (card or stablecoins) → credential security → checkout navigation → transaction orchestration This is the buy-side layer. Payments, however, are inherently two-sided systems. 🧵👇

Agree with CZ 💯. Long term, swarms of AI agents will generate their own GDP and express it in native tokens, specific to each swarm. We’re not there yet. Today’s agent economy runs on stablecoins and legacy rails. If agents are going to transact now, they need delegated payment authority on credit cards. Intent, mandates, and secure handling of cardholder data. This isn’t about “sending payments.” It’s about authorizing agents to act. That’s the infrastructure layer we’re building at Nevermined.

The missing pieces for AI agents to participate in real commerce are: access to funds, a verified identity tied to a human, and infrastructure to meter and settle value. We just integrated @privy_io to handle identity and wallets 🤝 Here's what this unlocks: – Users sign in with familiar login flows and instantly get a wallet – That wallet becomes the foundation for agentic spending – Agents can delegate spending authority with clear rules and limits – Every transaction settles onchain with auditable receipts More info ↓ privy.io/blog/building-the-f…

1/ Agentic payments are projected to be worth $1T+, but most agents still can’t transact reliably. @Nevermined_ai enables agents to price, bill, and settle inside real business models. Here's how Privy wallets makes this possible with identity and liquidity.

In their latest research, “Agent‑to‑Agent Economy: Position Now for Autonomous Business Shift,” Gartner identifies five critical capabilities AI agents will need: thinking, discovering, negotiating, trusting, and transacting. Nevermined is proud to be recognized by @Gartner_inc for our work in two key areas: Nevermined ID – Our W3C‑compliant Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) and Verifiable Credentials give AI agents secure, cryptographic ways to prove their identities and capabilities. Nevermined Pay – Our infrastructure provides instant, frictionless micropayments, enabling agents to seamlessly handle transactions—from API calls and compute cycles to complete business outcomes.
