Honestly SF is a suburb compared to NYC. And I like it that way.
If you think San Francisco is only 4-5 years behind NYC culturally then you are a philistine idiot. San Francisco is decades behind NYC and anyone with an iota of taste in their body knows this. NYC clears SF in food, night life, music, arts, fashion, urbanism, walkability, intellectual spaces, and exposed brick walls. If you have observed how people in the two cities even just dress and carry themselves you know it's a hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby situation. NYC has comedy clubs, theater, and intellectual life spanning EVERYTHING, not just AI and tech. In New York I can go see a play, get dinner in a dimly lit restaurant, and then get drinks with my friends for like $500. You can't do that in SF. In NYC I can go to a party in Brooklyn and meet amazing experimental visual artists who really don't like getting asked if their parents pay for their nice 1 bedrooms. Yesterday I went bar hopping during the day to catch all the Big 10 football games which is becoming a huge cultural mainstay in Manhattan. Yeah, we're culturally and intellectually superior to San Francisco tech nerds. Do I even need to mention the subway?

1000% It’s one of the only car seats you can fit three of in a row in the backseat of a sedan or mini suv. I also have cleaned this exact model of my children’s vomit like 10 times at this point and it’s def easy to clean.
If I was a mom influencer, there is not a single car seat company who could pay me enough money to promote any other car seat aside from the Graco Slimfit3 LX. Absolutely the best car seat on the market. Nothing even compares. Extremely easy to clean, you can just unbotton whatever pads you want to throw in the wash, you don’t need to uninstall the entire car seat. You can wash a single pad at a time & don’t need to take off all of them to get to other pads. Foolproof to button it back on. Very user friendly installation, have had two rear facing at the same time, and now one rear facing and one front facing, and as they grow I can just adjust the head rest and straps in about 5 seconds. Also, they REALLY are so slim. You can still see the indent of the previous car seat I had (Britax, trash) because most other car seats are so bulky for absolutely no reason. You can literally just get this car seat. I truly don’t understand why there are so many car seats on the market when this should be the only one that exists. Worth every penny I spent on it ($300, but you can usually find a deal on them at Target or Graco website, and they give you 10% off for signing up on their website) @GracoBaby we still need one more for my husbands truck if you wanna send us one! 😂

Surprised "Everything that happens/is generated" being the first letters award for the scroll prize this year didn't hit the TL harder...
$50K First Letters Prize awarded to Erwin Nieuwlaar for finding text in PHerc 343! This is the first time in nearly 2000 years that anyone has read text in this rolled scroll. Our papyrologists reckon it’s part of the expression πᾶ̣ν τ̣ὸ γιν̣όμ̣ε̣[νον, “everything that happens/is generated”

30% of the interviews I do these days the candidate is so obviously reading off a screen with ai generated responses. Comes off as so scripted and the answers have the right buzzwords but are unlistenable. Bummed that people think this is a good move. Things i've seen that are a tell: -they dial in with their phone camera not their laptop camera. presumably to use their laptop for AI. -no thinking state, no uhms, or pauses just plowing through a long ass answer with no emotion behind what they're saying -eyes darting around to give off they're not reading off the screen -had someone this week where the AI unmuted and started giving the answer lol

Consumer level context layer that plugs into agents seems to be an opportunity. Normies aren’t going to use GitHub. Being able to do a 5 min setup of context and then porting it to any harness for the masses seems like it’d be huge

Coopers Hawk randomly flew into my backyard in San Francisco. That’s a Lifer for me! Seen a lot of red tails but never a Coopers in SF. Took me a while to determine if it was a sharp shinned hawk or not.
